✨ Join us in expanding the conversation around Black beauty and non-toxic products! At Clean Beauty for Black Girls, we are excited to host another Sister Circle—an intimate and important discussion about the beauty routines we follow and the impact of toxic ingredients marketed toward Black women. This isn’t just a conversation—it’s part of a filmed project that centers the beauty and empowerment of Black women. 🌟 We need you to join us: 🔹 Participants: We’re looking for 10-15 Black women ready to share their experiences and thoughts about the products we use and how we can use our buying power to create change. 🔹 Space: Know of a beautiful, donated space in the DC area? We need a venue for this conversation, and your help would be appreciated! This is a real chance to be part of something bigger, as we drive clean beauty advocacy and amplify our community's voice. If you’re interested or can offer support, please DM us or reach out via hannah@cleanbeautyforblackgirls.org. Let’s create something beautiful together! ✨ #CleanBeautyForBlackGirls #NonToxicBeauty #BlackWomenInBeauty #SisterCircle #BeautyAdvocacy #BlackWellness

Patrisse Cullors, co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement, has ignited a call to action that cannot be ignored. Her passion and commitment to racial justice have inspired countless individuals to rise up and demand change. As we reflect on this challenge, there are several important lessons we can learn. First and foremost, we must understand that action is essential in creating meaningful change. It is not enough to simply talk about the injustices that exist in our society. We must actively engage in efforts to dismantle systems of oppression and fight for equality. This could mean attending protests, signing petitions, supporting black-owned businesses, or even having difficult conversations with friends and family members. Action looks different for everyone, but the important thing is that we are all doing our part to create a more just and equitable society.🌟💪 The impact of this call to action on our society cannot be overstated. By taking a stand against racism and advocating for social justice, we are sending a powerful message that inequality will not be tolerated. We are challenging the status quo and pushing for a more inclusive and diverse world. This not only benefits black individuals, but it also fosters a more compassionate and understanding society for all. We must continue to build on this momentum and work towards a future where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. #BlackLivesMatter #SocialJustice As black women leaders in today's society, we have a unique responsibility to advocate for those who are most marginalized and oppressed. We must use our voices and our platforms to amplify the voices of others and push for change. It is crucial that we support and uplift each other in our fight for justice. By standing together in solidarity, we can create a powerful force for good and inspire others to join us in our quest for equality. Our leadership is needed now more than ever, and we must continue to push for progress and positive change.👑✊ Patrisse Cullors has called us to action, and it is up to us to rise to the challenge. By taking meaningful steps to combat racism and inequality, we can create a better world for future generations. We must continue to educate ourselves, advocate for change, and stand in solidarity with those who are most vulnerable. Together, we can make a difference and create a more just and equitable society for all. Let's embrace this call to action with enthusiasm and determination, knowing that our efforts are making a difference. #ChangeIsComing #StandUpForJustice 🌍✨ #blackwomen #blackwomenwholead #womeninleadership

Today, 25th November, marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the start of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. Let’s raise awareness and take action together. As a survivor and decolonial scholar, I’m sharing 16 ways to help towards the elimination of gender-based violence: 1. Speak out against violence—silence is complicity. 2. Believe survivors and create safe spaces for them. 3. Men: hold your peers accountable, don’t excuse harmful behaviour. 4. Reflect on your own actions and biases. 5. Offer support, but don’t centre yourself. 6. Educate yourself about gender-based violence. 7. Support survivors—donate, listen, or amplify their voices. 8. Challenge harmful jokes or norms. 9. Volunteer or donate to women-led organisations. 10. Teach children about consent and respect. 11. Report online harassment and support victims. 12. Attend events to show solidarity. 13. Engage men in conversations about equality. 14. Practise empathy and compassion. 15. Promote equal power dynamics in your spaces. 16. Commit to ongoing action beyond these 16 days. Bonus: Pay attention to intersectionally marginalised women: Protect Black women. Protect Trans women. Together, we can build a world free from violence. Let’s take a stand, not just for these 16 days, but every day. ✊🏿🖤 #internationaldayfortheeliminationofviopenceagainstwomen

For small businesses, Juneteenth offers a unique opportunity to celebrate, educate, and engage with your community. There are many meaningful ways small businesses can honor days like this: Educate and Inform: Share the history and significance of Juneteenth with your team. Host a virtual or in-person event featuring speakers, panels, or educational resources to foster a deeper understanding of the day's importance. Support Black-Owned Businesses: Partner with and promote local Black-owned businesses. Consider featuring their products or services to help amplify voices and support growth. Reflect on Diversity and Inclusion: Use this day as a starting point to review and enhance your company's diversity and inclusion policies. Implement training programs, create safe spaces for open dialogue, and commit to actionable changes that promote a more inclusive workplace. Give Back: Organize a fundraiser or make a donation to organizations that support racial equality. Encourage your employees and customers to contribute to these causes as well.

As Black women, the workplace can be a difficult place for us for various reasons including misogynoir. In the conversations I have with Black women in my network all of us have either felt or currently feel unsupported in the workplace; this can impact our mental and physical health. To combat the workplace stress, there are conversations about using self-care as a tool. However, self-care isn't enough, we must engage in community care as well by surrounding ourselves with people who care about us and provide a safe space for us. This was a great discussion that Stephanie Perry lead on how Black women can learn to give and receive care. I am a firm believer that as Black women we should not achieve our professional goals at the expense of our personal well-being.

Black women know how to give care. May 2025 be the year you learn to receive care. If you made a 2025 Goals List, I hope you cross off everything that would require you to struggle in silence. And I hope you gather your Care Team so you can live like we’re designed to. In community. With support. With care. Last Saturday, I talked with the wonderful Toni Jones about her vulnerable call out for community care.
