A young Entrepreneur named Tasnia Atique has launched a service based business called "Women's Shuttle" aiming to serve female commuters exclusively, is already facing backlashes and being scrutinized by social media experts which encouraged me to reflect on it- 1. Firstly, let go of your stereotypical thoughts that this is for "Privileged Women" not addressing a solution for all. In my opinion, those who are privileged also deserve safety and security while commuting. So, if the business has started with a good cause that solves daily challenges for even 50 women who can afford, we should appreciate it as a starter rather than bantering it on social media. 2. Secondly, while you are dissecting the business model based on similarities/dissimilarities, by analyzing who copied it from where and how the future of the business would be, ask yourself if you have an actual intention to improve the business? Like, would you invest in it, or be in an advisory role if given the opportunity to grow the business or want to suggest it for free as part of your contribution to a cause? If yes, then reach out to the Entrepreneur and share your thoughts, if not then please don't discourage. Believe that they actually have a plan which will work. 3. Lastly, I would request you to reflect on, while we are criticizing the others for their attempt to address a cause, what is our contribution to solve the same? For example, do you let a female hire the CNG first in the late evening or just jump into it even if you have to pay twenty taka more? There are many other examples as well, like vacating the seat for a female or elderly in the metro? Let's reflect on our own actions. In closing note, I would like to say that it is your social media and you have every right to express your opinion, but consider the affects of it. There are at least 10 people in your account who will blindly consider your judgement and will never consider availing the service no matter how good the service actually is.
