An existing industrial property developed on a closed former landfill in Secaucus, New Jersey is expanding its existing bank of hydrogen fuel cells. Whitestone is implementing the NJDEP-approved Solid Waste Facility Major Disruption Application Plan including construction-phase air monitoring for methane and other landfill gases, waste management services for excess soil/fill materials and recovered groundwater as well as coordinating a radiation survey of stockpiled soil/fill materials prior to export.

The rapid industrialization has generated a significant amount of waste sludge, including sediment from water bodies, industrial sludge, municipal sludge, and fly ash slurry collected in containment ponds. These sludges, which contain pollutants and have high moisture content, have caused severe environmental pollution. Sludge dewatering is considered a crucial step in sludge disposal. Dehydrating and solidifying sludge to a moisture content below 80% makes it easier to transport and can also be used for brickmaking or other resource utilization. In recent years, functional geotextile tubes made by stitching geotextiles have been widely used for sludge dewatering. Fluid passes through the pores of the geotextile, while solid particles are retained, achieving the effect of dewatering and soil retention. From an application perspective, geotextiles should first have high mechanical properties such as tensile strength, tear strength, and puncture resistance to prevent damage to the geotextile during sludge filling and dewatering. The use of geotextile tube dewatering in the field of sludge dewatering has a broad prospect. However, existing geotextile materials often fail to meet the performance requirements of high strength, high filtration, and dewatering efficiency simultaneously. #sludge #geotube #dewatering #polyacrylamide#mining
