'Ars est celare artem" the art is to not show the art. "Reality first, theatricality second" Arty photo as per usual didn't have time to take a photo while working. At #GSMD rehearsing a neck break that's to take place in a car for one of the 3rd years films People often ask about the differences between stage and screen. there are of course but the core principles stay the same. As does the conditions, one is working with performers. There is an intention expressed through movement (everything we do is movement, breathing and speaking don't happen without it! ) happening in a 3d space, to tell a story. As with most rehearsals one is making do.. things don't match what they will be. The space isn't a car. It's 4 chairs. That requires a practical imagination. How does a car restrict my movement with in it. Am I wearing a seat belt? What does that do? Are there head rests? What do they mean? What does the seat do to my freedom of. Movement. What happens to my feet and legs in the foot well? what's in the way? Not all can be answered properly but they need to be considered otherwise one won't be ready when one set. It also requires that one actually pays attentions to those things we take for granted as a person, day to day. Its much harder to control what you do or want to learn or change if you haven't really been in and aware of what you can do already. @art.of.fighting.theatre.combat #morethanswordsandpunches @aluredwaller #Stressinnoculation #Fightforwards #Rehearsefixingthings #Expecttheunexpected #Donotrehearsemistakes #Principles #Concepts #Fightdirection #Fightisacting #Conflictcommunication #Stagecombat #ArtOfFightingTheatricalcombat #artoffightingtheatrecombt #Stagefight #movementisconflict #conflictisdrama #Conflictdirector #BritishGuildOfStageCombat https://lnkd.in/ep6NDXhJ

Fascinating discussion on the importance and challenges of proving provenance and the possible (disastrous) consequences if you don't. Brilliant expert panelist Angelina Giovani-Agha giving some fascinating insights into the processes involved. An excellent listen! If you are interested in attending a workshop with Angelina hosted by us on Due Diligence and Research Strategies, please email social@hallettindpendent.com to register your interest. #artmarket #provenance #duediligence
I had a wonderful experience this morning as a guest on BBC4 "Start of the Week", along with the National Gallery curator of the new Caravaggio show Francesca Whitlum-Cooper and Orlando Whitfield author of the brilliant new book "All that glitters". We spoke about provenance, risk in the art market and Caravaggio's innovative approach to well known subject matters! Thank you to @BB4, Natalia Fernandez, Katy Hickman and Tom Sutcliffe for having me! you can have a listen to the episode below: https://lnkd.in/eEg2PbZC

I contributed a chapter to this book about George Lucas, which is now available. It's an overview of various elements of his life and business. My chapter, "George Lucas in Museums," is about the creation of the Lucasfilm Archives, and how exhibits connect with the fandom, reinforce his creative vision, and expand the transmedia universe of Star Wars.
