Admitting it outright – like many in my generation, I don’t know enough about politics. And it's not just us. The youth today often find themselves disconnected from local and state-level political processes, not realizing the profound impact these decisions have on our communities and our future. That's why I've made it my mission to change this. Just as I highlight to my team & the youth I work with , that there's politics everywhere, from the streets to teamwork dynamics, I believe it's crucial to bring more educational resources about local politics into our everyday conversations. From city council decisions to community initiatives, these are the platforms shaping our opportunities and challenges. Recently, I had the privilege to speak at an event in Lawrence, advocating for a youth committee in local politics. Inspired by events like the Mayor’s Youth Summit and cultural festivals in Boston and Salem – such as BAMS Fest and the Salem Arts Festival – I shared how these initiatives inspired me to create my own festival, MWP Fest, aimed at involving individuals of all ages in civic engagement. I also addressed critical issues like mental health and the disconnection crisis among us. With elections looming large, it’s more important than ever for young voices to be informed and engaged. Let's empower ourselves with knowledge, because our voices matter – today and tomorrow. 🌍💬
