"When our patients who have a SADS condition - whether they're an athlete, an artist or an academic - participate in recreational sports, it's important to have awareness and readiness," he says. "The great news, though, is in 23 years of all of my diagnosed athletes without an internal defibrillator, a safety drill has never been activated."
