Here are my top five handy hints for working with your family / significant other... 1. Time Block Your Life - No shop talk before I've had my first cup of coffee, and no personal talk over other peoples heads in the office. I have become a Compartmentalising Queen 👑 2. Get Out & About - Fortunately we aren't office bound, so we aren't literally with each other 24-7. Actually, it's surprising how often we are like ships in the night! 3. Schedule Meetings - Strategy sessions, team planning days, debriefings. Oh my! These important conversations shouldn't be done ad hoc or whenever you happen to find time in your day-to-day life. Show respect for your business by prioritising it & addressing things appropriately. 4. Shared Calendars - Important in many workplaces, and even moreso when trying to balance family life with work commitments. Get ahead of the game by plugging absolutely everything into the calendar - from networking events to athletics carnivals - Know where everyone needs to be and when! 5. Get a Good Babysitter - Still taking applications for this one... 🙃 If you have any other handy hints, I'd love to hear them!

"Private Victories Over Public Celebration" For the longest period of time I always saw the success story of big figures and wanted to replicate that from myself too. But recently I realised that these public celebrations come out as an outcome of the numerous private victories , which according to me are the most necessary for building a strong inner foundation. While public recognition and accolades can be gratifying, it is the private victories that truly define our growth and character. These are the moments of personal triumph, achieved through dedication, resilience, and self-discipline, often unseen by the world. Private victories build a strong inner foundation, fostering self-respect and genuine confidence. They are the quiet achievements that propel us forward, fueling our motivation and commitment. When we focus on these internal milestones, we cultivate a sense of purpose and fulfillment that isn’t dependent on external validation. Prioritizing private victories ensures that our success is rooted in authenticity and self-improvement, making any public celebration a reflection of our true, hard-earned progress. "We measure people, planet, and…prosperity” ...says Julian MacQueen, as he redefines his company’s triple bottom line, “because we want everybody to prosper.” Julian and his wife Kim founded Innisfree Hotels, an over 35-year operation where the culture of their staff always comes first. The infrastructure and tools they’ve instituted have cultivated a workplace where employees are genuinely cared for and consequently, where employees care for each other. This culture of care ripples into an elevated guest experience that perpetuates loyalty…and profits. With over a billion dollars in assets, today, Innisfree is the 20th largest hotel operating company in the United States. Julian’s entrepreneurial journey is riddled with ups, downs, tragedy and triumph, but his ultimate vision has yet to materialize. The legacy of Julian and Kim MacQueen will live in the foundations, social action initiatives, and communities they’ve nurtured, the very places to which they plan to dedicate all their wealth. As many of you know, my husband is from County Leitrim, (a province of Connacht in the North West region of Ireland). This County is dubbed ‘Lovely Leitrim” for its beautiful landscape of surrounding lakes, rivers, and drumlin hills. Over the years, his Irish heritage has woven itself into the fabric of our lives, influencing our interactions and how we approach work and communication. Growing up in Ireland, my husband was steeped in a culture rich with storytelling, warmth, and a strong sense of community. These values have undoubtedly shaped his outlook on life, and in turn, have left an indelible mark on our partnership and professional collaborations. Building genuine connections is one aspect of Irish culture that resonates deeply with us. In Ireland, conversation isn't merely a means of exchanging information; it's an art form, a dance of words where listening is as important as speaking. This emphasis on active listening has strengthened our relationship and proven invaluable in our professional endeavors. Furthermore, the Irish love for storytelling has taught us the importance of using narratives in communication. As a result, we strive to incorporate compelling narratives that resonate on a human level into our work. Perhaps most importantly, this has taught us to be adaptable and resilient. The Irish have weathered their fair share of storms throughout history, yet they emerge with an unwavering spirit and a sense of humor. This resilience is a guiding light in our personal and professional lives, reminding us to approach challenges with optimism and determination. As we celebrate St. Patrick's Day and reflect on the richness of Irish culture, I'm reminded of the profound impact it has had on our lives. From fostering deeper connections to infusing our work with creativity and resilience, Irish heritage continues to shape how we navigate the world. So here's to the Emerald Isle, and the enduring influence of Irish heritage on our work, our relationships, and our lives. May we all carry a little bit of Ireland in our hearts, today and every day. 🇮🇪💚 #IrishHeritage #StPatricksDay #Leitrim #Culture #Communication #Resilience #Community #partnership #peopleandculture

🌟 𝗔 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🌟 . . . I recently met a woman who made the brave decision to leave her high-paying job to be more present for her growing teenager. Her story resonated deeply with me, reminding me of my own journey through similar challenges. When I was faced with a tough choice during a financially unstable time, my head was full of worries: ❓ Could we secure a stable future for our children? ❓ Would I be able to manage the stress and uncertainty? ❓ How would I support my family without a reliable income? Those times were marked by anxiety and fear, making me realize the vital importance of financial planning. Without a solid plan, even the happiest moments can be overshadowed by worry. From these experiences, I developed three key rules to live by: 🛡 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 #𝟭: 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗽, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁. 🛡 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 #𝟮: 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁. 🛡 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 #𝟯: 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿—𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀. Looking back, I see how these principles have guided me toward growth and fulfillment. Achieving goals is important, but the real value lies in the lessons learned and the strength gained through the journey. 💬 What challenges have you faced in balancing family and career?
