🌟What an inspiring week which featured the #ConnectedPlacesSummit🌟 I had the honour of moderating a panel on AI for Transport and Place, featuring innovators Mark Cramman from CC Informatics and Robert Harwood from Slingshot Simulations. 🚀CC Informatics is transforming infrastructure maintenance with AssetScan™, using AI and machine vision to interpret photographic data from drones, creating digital twins of structural deterioration. 🚀Slingshot Simulations’ Compass: Engine™, a decision intelligence tool, is revolutionizing how complex policy interventions are managed and scaled in place-based decision making. But the summit was more than technological showcases. It was a melting pot of ideas and networking: 🌐 Richelle Schuster FRSA led a compelling discussion on the value of innovation districts and strategies for scaling them, with Andrew Roughan emphasizing the need for unique, "supernormal" innovation within each district. 🌐 Arnold du Toit’s panel brought VCs and private equity into the spotlight, sharing insights across the investment landscape. 🌐 Margarita Vigrande-Ashe shared insights into ‘Zero Emission HGVs and Infrastructure,’ underlining the urgency and methodology of road freight decarbonization and hydrogen use. She emphasised the importance of disseminating information and lessons learned, showcasing real-world applications of new technologies. The amazing new connections made, from Katrina Kilkenny and Francesca J. Colloca of London Legacy Corporation to advocate for the North East powerhouse Charlie Charlton and leaders like David Elvy at Department for Transport, underscored the collective drive towards a smarter, more sustainable future. The summit concluded on a powerful note by Rt Hon Chris Skidmore: "There is no going back, no future economy without a green economy – the work of Connected Places Catapult is so integral… Businesses and industries are raring to go; they want that leadership position of net zero, and to start to introduce best practices, and take pilots and put them into place nationally and globally.” Thank you to all the visionaries, new connections, and the team behind Connected Places Catapult for an unforgettable summit. 🚀 Recapping APTATech 2024: Key Insights for the Future of Transit 🚀 What an incredible experience at #APTATech 2024 in #Philadelphia! Our panel on “Decarbonization Plans and Tools to Successfully Transition Your Fleet to Zero Emissions” was a highlight, and WideSense is thrilled to have been part of it. A huge thank you to everyone who attended, making it a packed room with more great audience questions than we could make time for! It was a lot of fun, and we're grateful to Heikki's fellow panelists and our moderator for an engaging and insightful discussion. As for the agenda overall, a few key takeaways really stood out: 🌍 Zero Emissions: The target is real and top of mind for transit agencies nationwide. The path to achieving it is complex, but the commitment is unwavering. ⛽ Hydrogen Hype: The excitement around hydrogen seems to be cooling off a bit as agencies delve into the total cost of ownership (TCO) and recognize the substantial expenses involved in sourcing and delivering fuel. 🤖 AI in Transit: There was a lot of discussion around AI. The consensus? Agencies need to be strategic in identifying where AI can generate real value. 🚌 Driver Shortages: This is a persistent challenge that isn’t going away. AI-optimized planning and scheduling presents a significant opportunity to deliver more rides with fewer drivers. This focus on developing tools and framework for quantifying innovation resulted in 6 internal innovation initiatives, ranging from quantifying key innovation skills to developing an actionable dashboard to allow ecosystem builders to precision intervene to grow the strength of their innovation ecosystem. We also also got more rigorous about defining key components of the framework upon which successful innovation initiatives sit. I had the pleasure of attending the first ever AggNexus Digital Innovation Conference in Austin, Texas this past week, and it was an inspiring event! The gathering of industry leaders from the construction materials sector highlighted just how much AI, digitalization, and data capture can improve productivity, availability and the bottom line!   CheckProof was one of the featured software providers and I had the pleasure of presenting our solutions during the two-day event and also participating in the panel that discussed challenges and opportunities in digitalization. My takeaways of the event were the following: 🚀 Mind blowing to see the potential there is to vastly improve with the innovative solutions that are already available. 💰 Proven savings to the bottom line with digitization will give the necessary buy-in to invest time and money in technology to actually make the behavior change that is needed. So, for us as solutions providers, it’s crucial to show the value to keep driving the digitization process. 👨🎓 Early adopters of new technologies gain a competitive edge. I want to thank Aggregates Business Magazine for the mentions in multiple articles. 🌟 HiPer it! at the #TechDays #DigitalInnovationSummit in Bavaria: the 10th anniversary event that drives innovation forward  This week, HiPer it! is participating in the TechDays Digital Innovation Summit in Munich, organized by Bayern Innovativ GmbH. 🍀 HiPer it!'s application for the event, with it's innovative approach of using #BigData and #AI technologies for #decarbonization and #energyefficiency, attracted a lot of interest and successfully passed the participant selection process.  🤝 Pavel Filonov led a workshop and pitch during the event together with other leading industry players such as Ann-Kathrin Freiberg from BioID GmbH, Ralf Busse, Anja Simon from LNI 4.0 (Labs Network Industrie 4.0 e.V.), Omar Tarabai from PERIAN GmbH, Frank Egle from UNWARE, Niklas Rose from Newbeemountain, Rosmarie Steininger from Chemistree GmbH, Srinath Mallikarjunan and others. 💡 The solution attracted a lot of interest from the participants and demonstrated a smart way of using big data and #AI to reduce #CO2 emissions and energy consumption.  Numerous interesting meetings at our booth, a live demo of HiPerWare - Big Data solution to reduce energy costs and meet regulatory sustainability targets in real estate. 🙂 We were pleased to connect with industry innovators and entrepreneurs, exchange ideas and explore potential collaborations.
