💥OUR NEW PROJECT💪WILD HORSES EUROPE 🐎 The only way to really understand the horse is to immerse yourself in his world. In his natural, wild and unconditional world. Observing his life, his behavior, his social life is extremely necessary to understand the horse in its essence. But how can we acquire this knowledge? Just by immersing ourselves in the world of #wildhorse.🐎 The real wild is now very rare to live and also regarding horses there is no place in the world where they do not see man. In Europe, then, the situation is more complicated: these animals do not have at their disposal the vast territories on which the iconic Mustangs of the United States can move, and often are territories inhabited by man, hence the need to manage them in a different and potentially invasive way. But we at #Animantia never give up and always go in search of remote and immaculate places where horses can simply be themselves. Where they can live without any human intervention or with proper management. Hard work but, after a few years of site inspections, we decided to launch our #Wildexperiences in #Europe, as well as in the #UnitedStates. Yes, wild horses also in Europe. There are and are very beautiful and especially interesting to experience. 📒In years we have selected only what comes closest to the real "wild". From #Italy to #Spain and #Portugal, we have chosen places where horses are kept to a minimum and live as naturally and independently as possible. This guarantees that we can observe their social and emotional life more pristine. Only in this way can we answer the question: who is the horse? The journey starts from here... and never ends! 👉Are you ready? Then we are waiting for you at the #WildHorsesEurope events. Three destinations starting this spring: Italy Spain and Portugal. Unique experiences that you will always carry with you, even in your relationship with your horses. Once you meet the proud and brilliant gaze of a free horse, you cannot forget it! 📲Read here to learn more and book your wild experience: https://lnkd.in/dbRYmDRR #animantiawildtrails #discoverwildhorses #wildhorseseurope #wildhorsewatching #elenabajona

Equine Fact of the Day There are no truly wild horses left in the world Until recently, the Przewalski’s horse was considered the only “true” wild horse breed. Most horses considered wild today, such as the American Mustangs or the Australian Brumbies, are descendants of domestic horses. The correct term to describe these horses is “feral”, as true wild horses have never been domesticated. A 2018 study concluded that Przewalski’s horses are also mere descendants of the first horses domesticated by the Botai culture around 6,000 years ago. Some of these horses likely escaped and became the feral Przewalski’s horse we see today. Sandra Olsen, a zooarchaeologist at the University of Kansas summarized the study’s findings on reuters.com: “The world lost truly wild horses perhaps hundreds, if not thousands of years ago, but we are only just now learning this fact, with the results of this research.” Did you know that all Przewalski’s horses today can be traced back to just 15 individuals captured from the wild a century ago? Named after the Russian explorer who discovered them in the 19th century, the breed was saved from extinction and recently reintroduced to their homeland in Mongolia.

Wildlife is a common surprise encounter when you're riding horseback that can startle your horse and quickly become a dangerous situation if you're not prepared. Horse training in the arena is a great place to start. You can introduce props and domesticated animals which can help desensitize your horse to real wildlife dangers when trail riding. These tips for staying safe on the trail can help keep you, the rider, and your horse out of harm's way. #horsetraining #horses #trailriding #wildlifeanimals #horsesafety

Retracing your steps when you lose the trail is always a good idea to avoid creating social trails. This simple act is a testament to your commitment to responsible hiking practices. Wandering off-trail has negative implications for both you (you could get lost, run into unexpectedly hazardous terrain, etc.) and the environment. Treading off the trail can harm plants, animals, and animal habitats in the area. Senior Infrastructure Consultant | Optimising public cloud adoption and security for my customers | All of my views and opinions are my own.
How can divers make themselves and their friends better fishermen. As you may or may not know, I have a few voluntary roles outside of work. One of those is the chairperson of Tawe Boating Club. The club members are primarily fishermen who have been around the block once or twice. Recently, they have been reporting that they are mostly catching dogfish and rays. Instead of their intended catch of mackerel. As a diver I was able to offer a different perspective to them, as I know that the species they are catching are primarily found on the bottom, in reefs and on flat sandy bottoms. I know that the types of fish my members are after, are found above the bottom and was able to give them some sound advice on how they can adjust their gear accordingly. But this isn't just true of fishing, It seems that in the big wide world, companies and sectors are always looking for people with industry specific knowledge. If everyone has the same perspective, how do you know you are fishing in the right spot? #perspective #randomthoughtoftheday

Director of Career Services, Counseling & Veteran Services at Manchester Community College (Retired Emeritus -Feb 2015)
For the past five or six years, I enjoyed having a great outlet for my fishing articles. Norm Vance, editor of the Pagosa Sun Journal, which covered southwestern Colorado, referred to me as his outdoor columnist/humorist and published every piece I sent to him. It was a great relationship and I appreciated his support. Last year, the publication merged with another regional paper and the new outlet does not currently support an outdoors section and that door quickly closed. Since then, I have been trying to find a place willing to run my pieces. I have some good news. An online site called, The Trout Bandit, has accepted my most recent article, Finding Solitude in Fly Fishing. The piece will run in two parts. The link to Part One is below and they will run Part Two in a couple of weeks. They seem very interested in running some of the other articles I have sent in, but are holding off on any further discussion until they see how their readers respond to my first submission. In this clearly blatant act of self-promotion, I am bringing you up to date with this news. If you feel so inclined, visit Trout Bandit, give it a read, send the link to your friends and feel free to leave a comment. This is a great opportunity to have my articles reach a larger audience. Remember this age-old discussion, “If a tree fell in a forest and nobody was around to hear it, would it make a noise?” My response? It probably still would have more listeners than I have readers. Hopefully this opportunity will help turn that around. Here is the link to The Trout Bandit - https://lnkd.in/eXqtcyWt and my article is Finding Solitude in Fly Fishing. Thanks! Continue to stay well & have fun! Carl Ochnio

Great news! Málaga, Spain—one of the oldest cities in the world—has decided to leave archaic horse-drawn carriages in the past. In this cruel practice, horses are forced to pull heavy carts of tourists through crowded, noisy streets—sometimes until they die Horse-drawn carriages make the animals pulling the load miserable—they may suffer in harsh weather conditions, get spooked by city traffic, develop respiratory ailments from breathing in exhaust fumes, or develop debilitating leg problems from walking on hard surfaces. Málaga will join many other cities—including Chicago and Salt Lake City—that have taken a stand against this cruel industry by either banning or restricting horse-drawn carriages. Keep reading to see which cities are paving the way. https://lnkd.in/eqnHq8aq #AnimalRights #HorseDrawnCarriages #NotOursToUse #AnimalSafety #Win #Victory #Activism #Horses #AnimalWelfare #TravelTips

"I am happy to see more and more people eager to deepen their true knowledge of horses! On this day of @Wild Horse Watching (in Europe - https://lnkd.in/dBjHehXB), passionate individuals and professionals have come together to go beyond opinions, beyond the boundaries of conditioning, and beyond the aura of various industry figures. For me, it has always been essential to convey the true identity of the horse, beyond any human concept or limitation. Into the wild, watching the wild horses—only the real ones—in their world, exposed to REAL life. Guiding people on how and what to observe, I always explain in detail the dynamics of the herds, the use of space as the primary element of communication, the meaning behind their expressions, and the sophistication of their interactions. I also consistently emphasize the importance of their nutrition and the crucial role they play in preserving an ecosystem. All this to teach, first and foremost, how to carefully read the communicative messages that domestic horses are always trying to convey to us, but which too often are still ignored or misunderstood. Immerse yourself in nature and then apply these observations in your daily life with your horses. Tis is fundamental because, always remember, the real teachers are them!" Stay Smart Stay Wild!
