In the first laboratory the analytics are now being done, i.e. data analysis, the results of which flow directly into project execution as well. European homegrown battery producer, ACC, today announced it was halting works on, and postponing new battery projects across the continent in response to revised demand outlooks. Alongside SVOLT's news regarding its now cancelled factory in Lauchhammer, Germany, Benchmark Mineral Intelligence has seen 96 GWh of planned European cell capacity pushed beyond the 2030 pipeline in May and June alone. Our analysis, including focused use of satellite imagery and geospatial techniques, highlights a global wave of cancelled and stalled battery cell production projects across 2024, with further market consolidation expected to persist across the second half of the year. Yesterday, a very interesting event took place at Battery Pub (Volta Foundation), where nearly 200 professionals from the battery industry gathered to discuss various areas of development, such as investment, charging stations, degradation, new alloys, new gigafactories in Europe and around the world, among many other concepts. I was able to emphasize the importance of BESS systems on a C&I scale to displace diesel in the Mining and Salmon industries in Chile, as well as the opportunities in Utility project development. Furthermore, during the event, significant advances in battery modeling were addressed, highlighting the importance of thoroughly understanding the behavior and performance of these technologies. Experts shared insights into the latest trends in simulation and design, underscoring the need to optimize the efficiency and durability of batteries in the ever-changing landscape of the battery industry. It was interesting to witness the numerous opportunities that emerged among the different companies and professionals who participated in Battery Pub (Volta Foundation). Last week, we celebrated our Topping-Out Ceremony, marking the highest point in the structural frame of our Central Lithium Electrolysis Optimisation Plant (CLEOP) in Frankfurt-Höchst, one of Europe's largest industrial parks. The event was attended by local industry stakeholders, including Infraserv GmbH & Co. Höchst KG. This marks an important milestone for Vulcan as we work towards producing the first carbon-neutral lithium hydroxide monohydrate (LHM) this year. Vulcan’s CLEOP will convert the lithium chloride from our Lithium Extraction Optimisation Plant (LEOP) into LHM, used for battery production in electric vehicles. CLEOP will focus on optimising operating conditions in preparation for start of commercial production. It will also serve as a product testing facility for its offtake partners and a commercial readiness training ground for Vulcan’s team. This is a very exciting time for Vulcan as operations continue successfully at LEOP, where the start of production was announced last week. #LithiumNews - E3 Lithium is pleased to outline the performance of its Direct Lithium Extraction technology at its field pilot plant, including achieving over 90% lithium recovery and a flow rate ratio of 15.6.   This performance surpassed our expectations, and has provided us with multiple data sets for DLE performance on our brine.
