Wildlife Conservation is a collaborative work to put the same goals for better future of the nature. As the program that focusing on the species that inhabitat in the small, and remote islands, these efforts has been approaching some stakeholders in many levels from local communities to the national governments. Approaching the local communities on the islands is one of the most interesting work for me personally, because We got many stories, and perspective related to the species and the future program. Not only about the presence of species, sometimes they will tell us about the history, culture and etc related to the species. #wildlife #biology #wildlifebiologist #storytelling #biodiversity #conservation #wildlifeconservation

The Chinese pangolin, heavily hunted within China and its other range states, may be the most endangered species of its kind. All eight species of pangolin are vulnerable to extinction because of the illegal trafficking of these live wild animals and their body parts. Their scales, in particular, are used in traditional medicine; some believe the false claim that they contain curative properties. #Wildlife #Marine #Ocean #Life #WildAnimals #WildlifeonEarth #WildlifeCare #SaveWildlife #ProtectWildlife #NourishWildlife #WildlifeConservation #EndangeredSpecies #ConservationEfforts #SavingSpecies #ProtectOurWildlife #ConservationHeroes #BiodiversityMatters #WildlifeRescue #WoodlandConservation #NaturePreservation #EndangeredAnimals #HabitatRestoration #WildlifeReintroduction #WildlifeRehabilitation #NatureConservation #WildlifeAdvocacy #PreservingOurEcosystems #TogetherForWildlife #ConservationSuccess #WildlifeRecovery #NatureRevival #SpeciesRevival #ConservationAwareness

Does a cuter #animal photo receive more attention and generate higher donations? Although the conventional marketing wisdom might suggest cuter photos appeal more to ordinary people and increase their willingness to engage with the post, the issue may be more nuanced when it comes to fundraising for #wildlifeconservation. This research shows that artificially enhanced photos may appeal more to ordinary people and increase their willingness to donate. But people with more knowledge about nature and wildlife tend to prefer original photos. After all, wildlife photography and documentary is a genre with its inherent ‘realism’ and ‘naturalness’ appealing more to enthusiasts and nature lovers. As such, conservation communicators might need different approaches when engaging with people at different levels of awareness and expertise about wildlife. Perhaps conservation organizations should artificially enhance wildlife photos in publicity materials targeted towards the general audience while using original photos in their member newsletters. Ethical considerations aside, nature enthusiasts who are striving for more outreach among ordinary folks should note that ‘naturalness’ may not mean the same to everyone.
Prioritisation of #wildlife #research and #conservation funding does not always align with conservation need. This new paper co-authored by WildCRU’s Diogo Veríssimo investigates if ‘beauty bias’ increases attention for species perceived to be more aesthetically pleasing. Authors explored if image editing impacts donation choices and public attitudes towards #species, and how people of varying conservation expertise respond to original versus edited images of wildlife. Wildlife tracking is one of the oldest human skills and one that is still hugely relevant today. In this new webinar we will explore what tracking can teach us about the hidden lives of animals, where they are on the landscape, and how they relate to the wider ecosystem. You’ll also get tips on how to start tracking, how to take it further if you already have some experience, as well as ways we can use tracking to help the wild world. #tracking #ecology #wildlife

Asian swamp eels are an #invasivespecies that were introduced to #Florida in the late 1990s, and their impacts may be as damaging as the #Burmesepython to native #biodiversity in aquatic systems. They do have some similarities to native eels, sirens, and Amphiuma, so learn more to properly identify them. https://lnkd.in/efGVPuDP #aquastemconsulting #environmentalconsulting #lakemanagement #wildlife #invasionecology

You're probably wondering about our logo. It looks a bit empty without the panda, doesn't it? Now imagine the world without pandas, without any wildlife. On this #WorldWildlifeDay, we're joining many others in removing nature from our logo to highlight a #WorldWithoutNature. Because – like our logo – our world just doesn't work without #nature. In 50 years, we have lost over 69% of wildlife populations. We must act now to stop nature loss. Repost using #WorldWildlifeDay and #WorldWithoutNature to spread the word. #wildlife #conservation #WWFIndia #WWF
