Wi-Fi offload is the only indoor solution that mobile operators can directly monetize by including an extra SSID for offloading when they sell managed B2B guest Wi-Fi services. In an era where indoor coverage gets increasingly challenging due to the higher frequencies in the 5G bands and more energy-effective buildings, this couldn't be more timely. Thank you, Dean Bubley, for arranging a great workshop in London about indoor wireless connectivity and the cooperation and friction points between different stakeholders, including venue owners, mobile operators, neutral host providers, regulators, and vendors. I learned a lot, for instance, that according to crowd-sourced analytics, 33% of UK buildings have no cellular indoor coverage for 50% of the space. The global potential is high, both for cellular indoor solutions and Wi-Fi Offload. And remember, Wi-Fi offload is the only indoor solution a mobile operator can get paid for deploying. They just have to sell attractive B2B Guest Wi-Fi services to venues and add an extra secure Wi-Fi SSID/Passpoint service for their subscribers with seamless offloading through the SIM credentials. The Hotel Clermont Hotel in London had an excellent Wi-Fi service with 275 Mbit/s and low latency. How was your latest Wi-Fi indoor experience? Please comment.

This. Is. Next level. 🚀 I just had the chance to visit the Sphere in Las Vegas. Still processing what I just witnessed here comes the first part of my review focusing on the venue experience (1/2): 🔹It is huge! 🔹 Parking was slightly provisionally, in cashless advance payment (25 USD per car) at the staff (no vending machines in place) 🔹 No explanation which entrance to use (slightly confusing) 🔹 A lot of staff 🔹 Ticket control/access via NFC 🔹 Fast security check with bag control 🔹 Very dark toilette rooms 🔹 Easy to follow signage inside the the building 🔹 Narrow seats with little leg space The building is just fascinating. Although the energy consumption is difficult to reconcile from a sustainability perspective.
