Trade relationship between the United States and China remains very challenging and it has extremely important implications for the rest of the world. Both the Biden administration and Congress are focused on how to define trade policy with China going forward. There's bipartisan agreement on the importance of the problem, but not on the solutions. We remain in the midst of an ongoing trade war. Both countries have imposed tariffs on hundreds of billions of dollars worth of trade, and those tariffs are very likely to stay in place. Meanwhile, the Biden administration has sent senior Cabinet officials, including Commerce Secretary Romando, to China in order to try and restart the bilateral dialogue. And it was very telling that while she was there, Secretary Armando said that for many US businesses. China is now on investable. Congress also has a new House Select Committee on China, which is holding hearings on all facets of the trade relationship. And Congress is considering new legislation such as the Leveling the Playing Field Two Point O Act, which would address China's Belton Rd. subsidies to other countries, as well as currency manipulation and many other unfair trade practices. At Wiley Rhine, we're helping our clients to navigate all of these issues and to take advantage of these opportunities to ensure that they can grow and remain competitive and profitable. We've also helped advise on laws and regulations that would provide new tools for the US government to use as part of this crucially important bilateral trade relationship.

The third Eurobarometer on International trade (Special Eurobarometer 544 Report) has been published today, providing compelling insights into European perspectives on global trade. This report, following those from 2019 and 2010, highlights key attitudes on trade and EU trade policy among EU citizens. The findings reveal that over 60% of Europeans perceive benefits from engaging in international trade. Moreover, there is evident support for the EU's involvement in global trade, with a striking 82% of EU citizens emphasizing the necessity of international trade rules to ensure a fair and competitive environment.
