Good morning, LinkedIn community! Today, I'm sharing my experience of scrolling through 30 candidates and calling each one to hear their story, experience, and goals. These candidates applied for an Assistant Construction Manager position, and I'm giving them all an opportunity to say their piece and providing feedback regarding my client's needs and requirements. At times, it can be challenging to find the right fit for a position, but I believe that giving everyone an opportunity to showcase their skills and experience is crucial. As you prepare to move, start looking at jobs in the city you are interested in. It's important to understand the job market in your city even if you will be working remotely and love your current job. The worst thing would be for you to move and then three months later get laid off. What if the city you move to doesn't have companies in your field and you now have to drive 45 miles each way to go into the office? These are things you want to consider. Spend some time connecting with recruiters in your field and build your network. If you are going to get a new job in your new city, make this a priority.
