TikTok’s popularity in the US isn't just about the love for short-form video. It is because of an algorithm that genuinely gives new accounts a real shot at visibility, empowering emerging creators and making it the cultural place to be. That’s what makes a looming TikTok ban in the US such a loss; not just for fans, but for the digital creators, musicians, comedians, historians, and countless others who found a platform to get their voices heard outside of the mainstream social echo chambers. So here’s the big question: if TikTok disappears, what platform will step up to become the next pipeline for the US creator economy? Do Meta & Google need to give much more weight to new accounts in their algorithms? #TikTok #TikTokBan #CreatorEconomy #InfluencerMarketing #Creators

what's trending in the #US in TikTok ? The "Bring Them Out" trend on #TikTok, which has gained popularity in August 2024, involves users participating in a fun and often humorous way of showcasing something or someone significant in their lives. The trend typically features people using the audio from T.I.'s song "Bring Em Out," and pairing it with a video where they dramatically introduce or reveal something that’s important to them—be it a person, a pet, a prized possession, or even a part of their personality that they take pride in. This trend is catching on because it combines the catchy #beat of the song with the TikTok community’s love for creative, often over-the-top reveals. Users also overlay text that adds context to the reveal, making the trend versatile and allowing for a wide range of interpretations and comedic twists. Given the nature of TikTok trends, the "Bring Them Out" trend is popular because it's easy to participate in and customize, leading to a large volume of creative content being shared across the platform

Substack going after TikTok creators. It will be interesting to see how the creator economy develops - will TikTokers move to Substack? Add Substack to their channel mix? This move is also interesting in the context of all the TikTok ban/sale chatter in the US - with so much uncertainty around TikTok in the coming months, maybe it would be smarter to move some assets to Substack and see how much you can grow there.

Happy Monday! 🌇 Let’s talk: Algorithm Changes and TikTok So, over the last 2 months I have noticed a real shift in the way TikTok content is created as well as viewed. I will be honest when TikTok first announced they would be integrating photos into the platform as a new form of content I did not expect it to do well, and I initially thought it would end up a temporary feature. And after the UMG situation I must say it was looking bleak for short form content on TikTok. However, photo trends have taken TikTok by storm. This as well as the new Repost feature now allows creators and viewers to connect on a different level - boosting the content for the creator and bringing a new form of ‘meme-like’ communication to TikTok. This is seen in the new Espresso Trend stemming from Sabrina Carpenter’s latest single, as well as YBT Fatt’s ‘Secrets’ trend. I think this is a shift no one saw coming and shows TikTok’s ability to tap into new forms of content, and even the potential for music streaming as show in Douyin. Let me know what you think in the comments below ⭐️ TikTok ByteDance Meta #tiktok #contentcreator #influencermarketing
