TikTok’s popularity in the US isn't just about the love for short-form video. It is because of an algorithm that genuinely gives new accounts a real shot at visibility, empowering emerging creators and making it the cultural place to be. That’s what makes a looming TikTok ban in the US such a loss; not just for fans, but for the digital creators, musicians, comedians, historians, and countless others who found a platform to get their voices heard outside of the mainstream social echo chambers. So here’s the big question: if TikTok disappears, what platform will step up to become the next pipeline for the US creator economy?
