When considering adopting a dog from an animal shelter, it's important to assess your lifestyle and home environment to find the perfect match. Think about your living situation, daily routine, and activity level to determine the size and energy level of the dog that would suit you best. #AdoptDontShop #ShelterDogs

When adopting an animal please be mindful that the animal you are bringing home has likely spent time in a shelter or noisy environment. The absolute worst thing you can do is run them to a dog park right after adoption or bring them to a crowded gathering. These actions can cause the animal to be fearful and not do well in the situation. Too many pets are adopted and returned a few days later because the new adopter expected them to jump right into their life and be perfect. They need time. Give your new pet time as indicated below so that they can feel confident with you and safe when venturing out to new activities. #adoptionsuccesd #newenvironments #dorchesterpaws

Failing to spay and neuter dogs and cats has led to an increase in mistreated and abandoned pets, as well as additional pressure on overcrowded shelters. World Spay Day doesn’t necessarily celebrate animal sterilisation, but instead educates pet owners how it can save millions of animals' lives and reduce the number of unwanted pets living rough. Find out more benefits of neutering your pet here: https://ow.ly/58s950QIemp. #WorldSpayDay #SpayAndNeuter #SpayDay #ResponsiblePetOwnership #NeuterYourPet

Any person who surrenders a Pet to a shelter should never be allowed to adopt a Pet again. Please spread the message ! 🙏
