For Microsoft and OpenAI, after a year in the 'hype cycle,' the Copilot corporate spending boom is just getting started. 2023 was the year generative AI like ChatGPT exploded on the public consciousness and into 2024 it looks like spending across the economy on gen AI enterprise software licenses will accelerate. More than half of large organizations tell CNBC they plan to purchase gen AI software like Microsoft Copilot within the next six months.
