Ben Labay engaged with me to help build a system to determine the best fit for the upcoming conference, along with some really cool goodies you will be able to use during the conference. If you know me, you know. IF you don't know me, well you'll see. Anyway, in case you may have been wondering: 189 attendees (10 spots left for holdouts and I honestly don't like that you exist, and I have to deal with you throwing a monkey wrench in my system, but hey). The amount of work it must have taken to wrangle this much talent, education and experience into one conference AND have all these people available and sitting down at a table wanting to talk to each other is a testament to the uniqueness that is this conference. Also, love it or hate it, (i'm the former) you have the one and only Shiva Manjunath holding it down as the master of ceramonies and I honestly will have to deal with this ego increase for the rest of my life, but I'm for it and I celebrate the glow up. If you didn't get tickets because you were not sure there would be value in this conference, you were incorrect in that assesment. When you see this go on sale next year, understand that all of us will be a year stronger in what we do, so it's not something to miss out on. Wow!!! We've had to organise for yet ANOTHER bigger space since we first released availability for the Planet IT🌍 'AI-vent'. I can't put it into words how popular this event has been! Going from the second largest space at Microsoft HQ to the largest space at Microsoft HQ because we had so much interest already blew my mind, and now that we're having to expand AGAIN and move the event down the road to the highly coveted Hilton in Paddington because we simply can't fit everybody in at Microsoft has just made me realise how important this event is going to be for everyone in the IT industry. There's an old saying in tech, "the leader of the pack gets arrows in his ass". Sooooo true! Let me explain why this happens. Those people who pile in first with new tech often lose out, and there's a reason for this. When a disruptive new piece of tech arrives, the hype is significantly higher than the technical reality of what it actually does. Suppliers like it that way because it shifts more gear. People get excited but then when they start to use the new tech, they realise it doesn't do what they thought it would do, but by then they've already signed a 12-month deal. Tres decevant! Having been in the IT world since 1978, let me give you a piece of advice - do your homework before you sign on the dotted line.
