Reflecting on my own challenges as a new hire, I saw a critical need for this resource. This guide aims to streamline the onboarding process by providing detailed instructions on the intricacies of ordering materials, submitting all necessary technical documentation, and ensuring thorough Quality Assurance checks. I believe this resource will be invaluable in helping new hires to quickly adapt to Aramco’s procurement processes, maintain high standards of quality, and contribute effectively from day one. This scenario is particularly relevant in the context of large EPC projects. Adapting to unexpected supply chain disruptions is key in ensuring project success. ▶ There are several challenges that can arise in the supply chain to ensure suppliers don’t fail their delivery commitments. Some of these challenges include: 1️⃣ Communication: Ensuring clear and open communication with suppliers is crucial to avoid any misunderstandings or delays in the delivery process. Regular updates and progress reports can help in identifying any potential issues early on. 2️⃣ Supplier reliability: It’s important to thoroughly vet suppliers before engaging with them to ensure their reliability and track record. This can include checking references, conducting site visits, and reviewing their financial stability. 3️⃣ Supply chain disruptions: External factors such as natural disasters, geopolitical issues, or economic downturns can impact the supply chain and lead to delays in deliveries. It’s important to have contingency plans in place to address these unforeseen circumstances. ▶ In case a supplier fails to meet their delivery commitment, the following action plan can be implemented: 1️⃣ Identify the root cause of the delay: Conduct a thorough investigation to understand why the supplier failed to deliver on time. This will help in determining the appropriate course of action to prevent similar issues in the future. 2️⃣ Engage with the supplier: Communicate openly with the supplier to address the delay and discuss potential solutions. This can include renegotiating delivery timelines, finding alternative sourcing options, or providing additional support to expedite the process. 3️⃣ Implement risk mitigation strategies: Develop contingency plans and diversify your supplier base to reduce the impact of any potential delivery failures.
