A big congratulations to Luke Bryan, who received the Academy of Country Music's Lifting Lives Award last night at the #ACMHonors for improving lives through the power of music, his generous spirit and commitment to serving others! In winning the award, he joins the likes of Dolly Parton, Lady A, Darius Rucker and Carrie Underwood, among many others. An honorary co-chair of our “More For You. Close To Home.” capital campaign, we’re proud to partner with Luke and his wife Caroline Bryan – one of two chairs of the Williamson Health Foundation's campaign – to elevate the level of health care here in Williamson County. We appreciate their dedication to our mission to meet the health care needs of the communities we serve, and we thank them for their generous support over the years. Congratulations, Luke! 📸 Michael Gomez Photography 📸 Kristie Lloyd Photography

If you saw the story on ArtsJournal about Milwaukee arts organizations being in trouble, let me provide some important context as journalists are missing the real point. The WI Policy Forum reported out on 2022 data regarding earned revenue. Of course it was way down. That was the first season after organizations had reopened from the pandemic closures and at least for Milwaukee Rep, we canceled more than 60 performances that year due to Covid. In FY24, Milwaukee Rep was back to normal earned to contributed ratios for us -- 60% of our budget coming from earned revenue. HERE'S THE REAL POINT -- we are much more reliant on PRIVATE philanthropy, because there is virtually no public/government support of the arts in Milwaukee. Why is WI the worst in the country for public arts funding? Why is Milwaukee the worst major city and county in the country for public arts funding?

Many arts venues have still not fully recovered from the Covid crisis, and many are stuck with audiences at about 80% of pre-crisis levels. But my analysis of attendance data of some of NYC's most prestigous arts venues indicated that they were drawing audienes with different geographic and demographic mixes. These are steps they have long needed to make. Since then I've come across several articles indicating that arts venues were trying to attract younger and more diverse audiences and using new tactics to do so. This article in the NYT is another of that sort. What this suggests to me is that serious arts organizations are finally taking serious steps to correct the audience attraction problems they had pre crisis for over a decade. I'd argue that this augurs well for a strong renewal in the arts industry within a reasonable periodm of time, and it should be noted, encouraged and supported. These arts organizations, however, also have problems caused by a reliance on a weak business model in which earned income never comes close to covering operational costs, and is farv too reliant on donations. Even here, though some arts organizations are trying to stabilized their financial situations by creating endowments and partnering in relevant real estate development projects. #artsrecovery #artsorgchanges #artsorgsfinallyinnovating

DoubleJump first Artist HALL OF FAME 💎 But for real, what is the Hall of Fame? It's a celebration of the best DJA artists who joined a workshop and created something mind-blowing after finishing it. By entering the Hall of Fame, you will receive exclusive DJA perks and a special certificate that actually means something. It's like that super impossible armor set you get in a video game for grinding and working your ass off, which you can show off so everyone knows you're the boss now. its almost impossible to get in, but a few made it! and a select few got the golden ticket! the quality bar was set so high i bet its harder to get in then Harvard. After you complete a workshop you can submit your final project, we review it and decide if the quality is good enough. the bar is extremely high as you can see from this first batch of hall of famers. if you get in you get 50% off towards any workshop. Four people got the golden ticket, which means they get any workshop of their choice for free and receive untold riches and fame. ps: i made a mistake, the blue car was made by Luca Goury!

Looking backwards moving forward. What an experience was to perform in Venice at Palazzo Grassi | Punta della Dogana with Deafened by the Light Sound/Video/Laser Concert opening for one of my personal musical heroes Robert Lippok. It was such a challenge where we had to build from scratch the video and laser software and hardware but what a joy was to bring it yo an audience. Enjoy! #multimedia #mediaproduction #audio #video #laser #lights #audiovisual #event #lightingdesign #tech #art #contemporaryart

Creative Director at The Cultural Assembly and founder of Future Creatives. Immersive experience designer.
I have a rescue package but it's not rescuing the system we have or it will just revert to the same thing, once it's dried out and ready to go again. I'm creating an alternative that any motivated creative can be part of, so if someone wants to rescue the current system go ahead, but be warned it will snap back to default. It's going to take effort and a huge mindset change from audiences, artists and venues for any sustainable change. We say we want change in the arts but humans don't like changing what we do! How much are YOU prepared to change to effect a change? The solution is simple but not easy. Time to decide. Find out more. Https://futurecreatives.ai
"In ten years' time, we will turn around and say 'where are all the artists, where are all the stories, where are all the good ideas?'" says David Byrne, Artistic Director of the Royal Court Theatre, in today's The Guardian. David is talking about the state of the arts in the UK, and the urgent need to support young artists. Lots on this over the past week, following the #FutureofTheatre conference hosted by The Stage Media Company Ltd. The reason I am particularly interested in this story. Not because I am an arts campaigner, or even working in the creative sector. I am not. I am a management consultant - with a focus on Purpose and Proposition. And I know I am a better one due to my own education. I studied English and Drama at university. I didn't mean to. I went to do History and Economics, and switched in my first term. The English and Drama people were having much more fun, not many essays - no more thought than that. But what it did for me was teach me how to imagine, how to work collaboratively in teams. The importance of rehearsal and rigour; of learning your lines; of considering different perspectives. And the absolute joy of working as an ensemble. These are the principles of my entire career (really long) and the principles behind Circus - Practice and Performance. Important for commerce and culture; for people, for brands, for a happier and more constructive life. https://lnkd.in/dFa6CWD5 Creative UK Arts Emergency Create Charity (https://lnkd.in/dVh7sz3Q) Campaign for the Arts #FutureofTheatre

Question: How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives? My Answer: The best way to make an impact is to follow your passions and engage with organizations that align with those passions. There’s a common misconception that you need to be an artist or have an arts background to contribute to arts organizations. In reality, we need board members and volunteers with diverse skills and backgrounds—those who excel in finances, marketing, event organization, insurance, sales, and advocacy.
