When a potential clients come to you, these are the 3 things they are looking out for before they hire you Never make the mistake of thinking they’ll hire you because they sent you a DM or booked a call (Please note that I am only talking about serious and quality potential clients😎) Yes, there are still some things they would be looking out for and i’ll show you 3 out of them now 1️⃣ Your ability to listen and understand 2️⃣ Your expertise (they’ll know through your questions and contributions) 3️⃣If you have done it for others before (they don’t want to be scapegoats) Prepare to prove yourself in all these things and more to win them over Even if they can’t hire you immediately You’ll build a permanent storey building in their head And they’ll return soon! Enjoy💕 P.S: If you are to hire something to work for or with you, what’s the major thing you’d check for?

Many residential contractors source work by building relationships with designers and architects. But often, reaching out and making those connections seem difficult because of the stories we build up in our heads about whether or not we’re playing on the same level. But before you determine that a design or architectural firm is out of your league either based on their website or clients they’ve worked with, stop and consider this: When you reach out to a new contact, or are introduced through a mutual partner, you’re attempting to make a connection - not sell yourself. It’s your chance to see if there’s a genuine liking and if you would work well together, while discussing the industry in general, the challenges you face, how you operate and what you value in an architectural or design partner. Think of it like being on a sports team. If the team around you is made up of rookies, you likely might not have a cohesive team, and performance might suffer. In contrast, on a team with more experience, rookies learn from sophomores and sophomores from vets. Working with a more experienced firm can help push you to “level up” on areas in your business that you feel might need improvement. Early on, I caught a few whales. But I wasn't ready to really work with them like I am now. But I never would have gotten to where I am today if I hadn't put myself in that position. Sometimes its taking those chances that show us what we’re really made of. #architects #designers #interiordesigners #partnerships #knowyournumbers #buildandprofit

Do you long to work in an environment that emphasizes teaching, where project leads and experienced engineers spend quality time teaching young engineers the hows and whys of solid design practices, where experienced engineers are passionately driven to share their experiences, expertise, and know-how? Do you wish to be part of a culture that encourages healthy, experientially grounded, well-educated, professional growth (where it's just as important to your leadership that you are learning why to design things a certain way as it is to actually produce the end product)? Do you yearn for a work place that respects and encourages a work-life BALANCE? If you have a curious, passionate drive for civil engineering, we're hiring! Personal/professional anecdote: In December, I lost my father-in-law suddenly. It was made clear to me by A2H leadership and HR that taking care of my wife and family was the most important thing in my life (novel thought, right?). When I returned to work, I didn't return to a mountain of tasks--people had stepped in and carried my workload to willfully be sure that when I returned to work, I didn't need to be concerned/worried/anxious about making up lost time. It has pushed me to work even harder for my team knowing that folks here truly have my back, and that I didn't spend a single minute in the hospital with my wife worried that I was anywhere but exactly where I needed to be, caring for my family. That's teamwork, and that's a healthy work environment. #neverstoplearning #companiesthatpracticewhattheypreach #engineeringiscool
Exciting opportunity here at A2H.

According to Reed the top paying job title is ARCHITECT! Let’s celebrate right? The recruitment company Reed has analysed all the jobs available on its website, which has listed 17 million posts over the past eight years, but excluded leadership roles, to ensure that chief executives and chief financial officers do not skew the data. Here’s where the depressing facts begin. The top three positions are: 1. A security architect, with an average annual salary of £115,700, 2. A solution architect, on £100,700 3. A cloud architect, on £98,400. ❌ Average salary of an Architect who designs buildings is £44,838, according to Reed. Stolen titles added to their whopping salaries I’m going into secuity architecture people! I quit! https://lnkd.in/ejf65Ees Paul Iddon Grant Erskine RIBA Architect Matt Kirk Kilian Soudy Aylin Round Mihail Vulov Victoria Farrow Farian Anwar Jake Rudin Erin Pellegrino Evelyn Lee Bill Wyer Rakesh Mistry ARB RIBA Mohammed Balila 🇸🇦🇮🇹 Andrew Holt

Evaluation of Passive Design Philosophies - Snapshot Survey images we took of a Sports Hall that was completed 12 months ago. Summer period, 09:00, 17 degree ambient. Some good results, some not so good. We originally integrated a number of passive measures into the design of a collaborative architect. Unfortunately a number of them were value-engineered out during the construction phase, delivering a lesser outcome for the Client. One day someone needs to explain to me what value-engineering actually means and where the 'value' is in cutting an integrated design (only to over-run at the construction stage..........)

In every small job, there can be a big opportunity. Which is why my policy has always been ‘There’s no such thing as a job too small.’ Perfect example: I had 2 days to redecorate a drug rehab’s main space before they would be interviewed on TV. Two days is nearly impossible when it comes to ordering furniture, let alone design time. I said yes, & miraculously I made it happen. That small job led to them giving me three large projects & completely changed the trajectory of my business. #Opportunities #InteriorDesign #Business #Gratitude #DesignProjects #Interiordesigner #interiordesigntips
