A few weeks ago, we told you all about how we have taken over land between Shildon and Bishop Auckland, in County Durham. This is so that we can carry out a long-term project to turn the poor quality grassland into a thriving habitat. Well, we have already made progress! Check out this video! The work is aligned to our Project Pipeline: County Durham and Tees Valley, a £155m investment in water supply resilience and quality in the south of our region.

Breaking Ground in Beverley!🏡 We’re proud to announce that construction has officially begun on our latest development, a £20 million mixed-tenure development in the highly sought-after area of Molescroft, Beverley. Joined by Deputy Mayor and Consort, Councillor Alison Healy and Councillor Denis Healy, this project marks a significant milestone in creating a future-ready, eco-conscious residential community. Located on the former Longcroft Lower School site, and named as The Paddocks, this site transforms a historic educational site into a vibrant new neighbourhood. This development builds on our successful partnership with East Riding Council, which previously delivered the acclaimed The Sycamores project in Kirk Ella. The Paddocks will also be entirely gas-free, featuring advanced air-source heat pumps in every home. This sustainable approach not only aligns with the UK's renewable energy goals but also offers residents the benefits of environmentally friendly and energy-efficient living. Last week at the League of Municipalities, our Policy and Program Coordinator, Chris Sotiro from NJF's Mainstreaming Green Infrastructure Program joined experts in "Stormwater Management: The New MS4 Frontier" to discuss New Jersey's growing need for proactive stormwater management. 🌧️ 🗣️ Chris shared resources to help towns understand and comply with Tier A MS4 Permits and Watershed Improvement Plan requirements while embracing green stormwater infrastructure. 👏 🌱 💧 Co-speakers included the City of Lambertville, Sustainable Jersey, NJDEP, Montgomery Township, and The Watershed Institute.

Register now for the next WSCA Wednesday Webinar: https://lnkd.in/eJvVKSYm APPLYING WATER SENSITIVE URBAN DESIGN (WSUD) TO SMALL INFILL DEVELOPMENTS Despite widespread adoption in Western Australia, WSUD has not resulted in consistent water sensitive community outcomes, particularly in brownfield and infill sites. This project addresses the challenges and uncertainty about applying WSUD in small lot developments (those with fewer than 20 lots). Melissa McGrath (from Josh Byrne & Associates) and Melissa Manley (from Department of Communities WA) will talk about the outcomes from this project: 1. concept design elements to inform processes 2. lessons and recommendations to support better outcomes.

Devon County Council has awarded a £7.5m contract to Octavius Infrastructure for improvements to Dinan Way in #Exmouth. Starting next month, the project will construct an 850-metre two-way carriageway with two connecting roundabouts between Dinan Way/Hulham Road and the A376 Exmouth Road. This aims to reduce congestion and provide better access to Exmouth. This is Octavius' first contract through the county's framework. While some have raised environmental concerns, the highways director, Chris Hudson says the work will help locals access the countryside more quickly. The project is expected to be complete by December 2025, diverting traffic from the town center and improving sustainable travel options like the Exe Estuary Trail. Octavius is "delighted to be playing [its] part in supporting Devon County Council's objectives to positively address climate concerns, drive sustainable economic recovery and enhance the health and wellbeing of their communities." #NEWS Former President of Ireland, Mary Robinson calls on Local Authorities and building and conservation specialists in Ireland to become leaders in the energy renovation of historic buildings. Ms. Robinson was speaking in Dublin Castle to over 350 attendees at the launch of a Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) led professional training programme which falls under the EU-funded project ‘Support to the Renovation Wave – Deep Energy Renovation of Historic Buildings in Ireland’.  The objective of the training is to upskill public sector personnel which will allow the state to increase its capacity for retrofitting public sector historic and heritage buildings and will better equip the Government in meeting its ambitious targets as set out in its National Renovation Strategy.
