Big news, indeed! Way to go, public health and food safety team! People have been getting sick for a long time from Salmonella contamination in these products because they would often only heat them up instead of fully cook them. This is the culmination of tons of work on this issue since the first recognized stuffed chicken outbreak in 1998. FSIS announced its final determination to declare Salmonella an adulterant in raw breaded stuffed chicken products when they exceed a specific threshold (1 CFU per gram or higher) for Salmonella contamination.
