Global Equity supply turns the most negative since 1999 While companies continue to buy back their own shares at record pace (as I´m discussing here: https://lnkd.in/edy_NjsG), IPO activity remains anemic. This is somewhat surprising as the recovery in equities should have provided some tailwinds. The effect is less of a surprise though. With demand staying high while supply being low, the net suply is shrinking at its fastest pace in at least 25 years. Dividends paid from publicly listed companies have proven to be an important component to investors' success in growing their wealth over time. Investors can benefit from dividends' steady income, their portfolio-stabilizing affects in volatile times, and their tax efficiency when held in a non-registered portfolio – all of which make dividend-paying stocks a nice "cup" of benefits for investors. https://lnkd.in/gkFQpgGd

Ever heard the term “market capitalization”? This concept, otherwise known as market cap, refers to the total value of a publicly traded company’s outstanding shares. It is calculated by multiplying the stock price by the number of shares. Market cap allows investors to evaluate a company based on how valuable it is perceived to be by the public. Choosing to invest across market caps may be beneficial in building a well-diversified portfolio.
