Wilmington Learning Collaborative kicked off its Teacher Leader Design Fellowship (TLDF) at Maurice Pritchett Sr. Academy yesterday, welcoming nearly 40 teacher leaders from across our WLC schools and charter partners. The fellowship will include ongoing professional development, experiential learning through visits to innovative school models across the country, and the collective design of a future model for teacher leadership. We celebrate the brilliance and dedication of our participating teacher leaders and look forward to the journey head. 📚 On Friday, September 6th, the scholars at Stubbs Early Education Center had the unique opportunity to meet Delaware’s First Lady, Tracey Quillen Carney, as part of her Books for Blue literacy tour. This initiative, a key element of the First Chance Delaware program, aims to give every child in Delaware the opportunity they need to thrive. First Lady Carney introduced the story of Blue, a determined little chicken on a quest to find a new book. Through Blue’s adventure, our students learned that every library visit is a chance to discover new worlds and ideas. The story is available in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole, ensuring that all children can engage with Blue’s journey.
