95 PERCENT OF AMERICAN PUBLIC SCHOOLS DRILL STUDENTS ON LOCKDOWN PROCEDURES IN THE EVENT OF A SHOOTING In the 2005–06 school year, 40 percent of American public schools drilled students on lockdown procedures in the event of a shooting; by the 2015–16 school year, 95 percent did. ✅ 31 percent There were at least 144 incidents of gunfire on school grounds in the 2023-2024 school year, a 31 percent increase from the prior school year. ✅ 2/3 Two in three incidents of gunfire on school grounds from 2013 to 2021 occurred in schools where one or more racial and/or ethnic minorities constituted a majority of the student population. ✅ Conclusion - Policymakers can help prevent gun violence in schools by implementing proactive, evidence-based interventions. - Planning and security strategies, as a last line of defense, can ensure that a school is prepared to quickly respond appropriately to any threat. - Our leaders must take responsible action to keep our schools safe. They can do so with data-driven strategies that have been proven to reduce violence in schools. Ref. School Safety | Everytown Research & Policy ☑ How can bSafe help reduce response time and improve outcome? bSafe can help both in a schoolshooting situation and on campus. - bSafe’s discreet alarm options include voice activation of SOS or a paired Bluetooth button/wristband that allows you to activate an SOS alarm and start live audio/video streaming, even when your mobile phone is locked. Natalia Sokolova, President and COO of Cytta Corp in the US., remarked, "As a mother and President of this company, I know how critical safety is for families. Our collaboration with bSafe allows us to deliver real-time safety solutions that empower and protect, whether it's ensuring the security of a loved one walking home or keeping our children safe at school." bSafe Group has been supported with very valuable counseling along the way developing bSafe, by Trond Riiber Knudsen / John Christian Elden / Tor Rune Raabye /Knut Asplund /Michael Stewart/ Erik Ronningen and our Board of Directors with Cecilie Grue and Ketil Solvik-Olsen - bSafe’s emergency alerts, with live streaming of audio and video, automatic recording, seamless sharing of incidents in real-time and two-way communication, allows instant notification for emergency response, anywhere at any time. Crossing concept thresholds is what it is all about for me. Leaving full time policing three years ago to enter HE was a crossing I never thought I would make, but I did. Delivering a one to one with a PCDA student today and seeing the shift in their perspective to realise that reflective practice is something they do anyway was a win win. Teaching on policing degrees is not about how to do policing from a to b; it’s about how to look at things differently. #PCDA #LTU #CollegeOfPolicing

K-12 school students get physical fitness tests, and checking their mental health is important too. Our Pennsylvania client case study from Cumberland and Perry counties describes how their Elementary Student Assistance Program (ESAP) program manages behavioral and mental health among young children. If you don't ask, you won't know, and you can't help. #studentsupport #earlydetectionsaveslives #software #mentalhealthmatters

I love delivering professional learning, but get so worried that I won’t be able to set IT up correctly. Or there will some kind of glitch…. Does anyone else worry about this and get to a venue with loads and loads of time? Just to be sure 👌 On Tuesday night I was all set up, IT sorted & not an audience member in sight 😩. #childprotectiontraining #childsafety #ocg #safeguarding #childsafestandards #youngcoachestraining www.elementbecroft.com.au
