Last week I attended the ProcureCon in Los Angeles. The conference was fun, inspiring and insightful due to impactful thought-leadership panels and networking discussions. The recent SIA and ProcureCon conferences have painted a clear picture: the staffing industry is going beyond simply filling jobs. There's a strong commitment to positive workforce change, with a proactive approach shaping the future of contingent staffing. The current abundance of technology for end-to-end support can feel overwhelming but the variety of tools holds immense potential for our industry. Looking forward, we can expect advancements which will make end-to-end support not just efficient, but also streamlined, personalized, predictive, and ultimately, more user-friendly. Both conferences emphasized the importance of DE&I initiatives within the staffing industry. Supporting DE&I suppliers ensures a more representative workforce that breaks down cultural competency training and promoting cross-cultural communication to foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued. Studies show that diverse workforces are more innovative and profitable. By focusing on DE&I, the staffing industry can play a significant role in promoting a more equitable future of work. As the staffing industry continues to evolve, social responsibility will likely become an even bigger differentiator, with companies committed to their contingent workers and communities seeing long-term success.
