Did you know? All aircraft operations are guided by procedures that ensure the safety of the people and property in and around the aircraft. Aircraft and the areas they normally operate have procedures designed to prevent incidents and accidents. #KCAAaviationFact

Aviation aggression by passengers, both on board and on the ground, often stems from stress, alcohol, and personal issues. Strict enforcement of rules, better stress management support, and clear communication can mitigate such incidents. Training for staff to handle conflicts and limiting alcohol consumption are essential steps. Increased penalties for offenders can act as a deterrent. #AviationSafety #PassengerBehavior #StressManagement #FlightEtiquette #TravelSafety

When I served in the Army, it was mandatory to have a ground guide whenever you were backing a vehicle up. Do any of my connections have that policy in their organization? Is it just not feasible due to manpower, the high number of times equipment is backed up, low frequency risk event, etc.? At what point will an organization decide to make it feasible? After one person is killed? I know there is a lot of great technology out there these days that can help mitigate this type of event. Curious on your thoughts. Thanks! #safety #hse

Check out OSHA's proposed rule on Emergency Response, published Dec 21st. It includes significant proposed changes to existing standards. If your organization has fire brigades or emergency responders, it might be important to review, and if indicated comment on this proposed rule. https://lnkd.in/en2ep3eB

Unruly passengers are defined as individuals who, from the point of closure of a civil aircraft's door prior to takeoff until its reopening after landing, engage in various prohibited acts. These acts include assault, intimidation, or willful recklessness that jeopardizes order or safety, as well as interference with crew duties or obstruction that impairs their ability to perform their tasks. Additionally, unruly behavior encompasses willful damage to the aircraft, its equipment, or associated structures, posing risks to the safety of the aircraft and its occupants. Further, communication of false information that endangers the safety of the aircraft during flight and disobedience of lawful commands aimed at ensuring safe, orderly, and efficient operations are also considered forms of unruly conduct. #civilaviation

Installing a fire sprinkler system is a practical way to keep people and firefighters safe from the risks of fires. Reports show that civilian fire death and injury rates are lower when fire sprinkler systems are present compared to reported fires in structures with no AES, and the rate of firefighter injuries was also lower when sprinklers were present.

Walked into a restricted area wearing flip flops and dies at major airport… 3 words - Access Control Theats Massive liability in negligence claims far more expensive than the cost of doing the right thing, spending in the right places, and not on the cheap. Just ask any Ad Agency what kind of a hit a Brand will take in such a scenario. Imagine: Bad actor with ill intensioned improvised devices makes it into restricted airport areas, flip flops are optional. Not one camera to pick up someone nosing around a “restricted area” to send a pop-up on someone’s phone? Restricted from what? Oh, right- restricted from protection.
Chicago firefighters found dead woman entangled in conveyor belt at O’Hare International Airport (ORD). An investigation has been initiated after a woman was killed in an accident involving a conveyor belt inside a restricted area of Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. The dead woman was found around 7:45 a.m. Thursday, when an airport employee was inspecting the baggage handling area in Terminal 5. The woman reportedly entered the restricted area just before 2:30 a.m. and was wearing flip-flops. She was found entangled in the conveyor belt system used to move baggage, according to the fire department. Security footage only captured her walking into the area but did not show how she died. 📸 For representation #airport
