How can private sector extension drive climate-resilient agriculture?     Panelists Kristin Davis of the International Food Policy Research Institute, Piet van Asten of Olam Food Ingredients, and Ben Odoemena of Winrock International answered that question during the USAID Enabling Farmers for Agricultural Transformation project’s second in a series of online webinars, held on May 23rd.    Implemented by Winrock as an associate award under the West Africa Farmer-to-Farmer program, EFAT has set out to improve agricultural and extension advisory services to boost smallholder farmers’ productivity and diversify livelihoods in the face of climate change.  Private sector-led extension has become increasingly important due to declining investments in publicly funded extension and advisory services, and the need to better support smallholder farmers in adapting to climate change. Moderated by Elizabeth DeFreest, private sector engagement officer at USAID’s Bureau for Resilience, Environment and Food Security, panelists stressed the need to increase investment in extension, strengthen private-public partnerships and build capacity through regenerative agriculture practices to help lower carbon footprints.     Watch the webinar here: https://lnkd.in/gAmKKm2Q #Climatechange #Climatesolutions #Climateresilience #Agriculture #SustainableAg #Localization #Sustainability #AgriculturalExtension #Agriculturaladvisoryservices #Extension #Climatesmartag #ruraladvisoryservices
