Meet Hari Shankar Sah, who has been running the "Jeet Shankhar" hotel in Birgunj, Nepal, for the past 20 years. Faced with rising LPG costs and smoke from charcoal, Hari switched to the Metallic Improved Cooking Stove (MICS) from Husk Power Nepal. This efficient stove, powered by bio-mass pellets, has significantly reduced his energy costs and improved the working environment for his staff, saving him Rs. 30,400 annually. Winrock International is proud to be a part of this initiative through the Nepal Renewable Energy Programme (NREP), helping promote innovative, renewable energy solutions.
