It was a fruitful meeting with the Confederation of Nepalese Industry (CNI) team at Singha Durbar, where we discussed the crucial role of private sector investment in developing Nepal's energy sector, renewable energy sector and green energy sector. Our government is committed to creating an industrial-friendly environment by addressing policy issues and fostering collaboration. We aim to produce 28,000 MW of electricity in the next 10 years, overcoming challenges along the way. By partnering with the private sector, we are working towards increasing industrial income and ensuring tax compliance. Empowering India's Villages through the 'Model Solar Village' Initiative under PM-Surya Ghar Yojana! With the aim to revolutionize rural energy access and make village communities self-sufficient and sustainable, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has released the Operational Guidelines for implementation of the 'Model Solar Village' component under the ambitious PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Key Highlights of the Operational Guidelines: ➡ One Model Solar Village will be selected per district across India, with a total financial outlay of ₹800 crore. ➡ The winning village in each district will receive a central financial assistance grant of ₹1 crore. ➡ Eligible villages must be revenue villages with a population size above 5,000 (or 2,000 for special category states). ➡ Selection will be based on a competitive mode, assessing the overall distributed renewable energy (RE) capacity installed within 6 months of the declaration of potential candidates by the District Level Committee (DLC). ➡ Implementation will be carried out by State/UT Renewable Energy Development Agencies under the supervision of the DLC. By transitioning to solar-powered communities, these villages will serve as models for others across the country. These two factors contributed to why I lost my father in December 2018; Fuel scarcity and Power transformer failure 😞, they have become my motivation to pursue advance degrees in renewable energy and smart grid technologies. I have written my story in my SOP. The picture below is the transformer that is serving the following community in Ughelli South precisely( my Local Government of Origin); Otutuama,Esaba,Ophorigbala, Ihwrogun and Otitiri, all in Ughelli, Delta State. And the last time it brought light was 15yrs ago according to stories. Now, just imagine how these people cope in these five communities considering inflation and the current fuel prices.. I know this won’t continue forever.. We are coming to change the story in our local communities. #smartgrid #renewableEnergy #power

#Lakshadweep has been in the news for many reasons recently, all thanks to our #PMO. I want to give you one more reason to celebrate these pearl islands of India located 200 to 440 km off the Malabar coast in the Arabian Sea. Lakshadweep witnessed the commissioning of its #first #grid-connected 1.7 MW #solar power project with a 1.4MWh battery storage facility covering the islands of Kavaratti and Agatti. The island relies on diesel based power generation and this solar project would pave the way for sustainable energy solutions for island regions of the country which depend heavily on tourism. The UT of Lakshadweep is struggling to meet its RPO obligations and a re-look into developing more such solar projects would be a success as the islands receive abundant sunlight throughout the year leading to huge commercial savings, reduced diesel consumption and also offsetting CO2 in the island region.  (Project developed by SECI and EPC services by SunSource Energy.
