🔎 Can you spot the issue in this Detection of the Week? Check out this week's detection of the week. Can you see what the issue is here? The team on-site observed increased chipping, prompting them to use analysis tools and Camlin Rail's #Theia Stats page. They identified a concentration of chipping around 100mm from the centre, indicating damage to the Overhead Line Equipment (#OLE). Further analysis using #FleetView revealed that the damage was primarily on slow lines. This data is crucial for our customers, serving as an early indicator of OLE damage that could affect the pantographs of the operators. Early detection allows the engineering team to schedule repairs promptly, preventing potential OLE takedowns and avoiding significant costs in repairs and lost revenue. 🎯 Tips for Identifying When to Use Window Functions 1. Look for Cumulative Calculations: If you need running totals, averages, or cumulative counts, window functions are your go-to. 2. Ranking and Sorting within Groups: When you need to rank or sort data within specific categories or groups, window functions like RANK() and DENSE_RANK() are perfect. 3. Comparing Rows within a Group: If you need to compare a row’s value to others in the same group, such as calculating differences from the average, window functions are ideal. 4. Time-Based Analysis: For tasks like calculating moving averages, detecting trends over time, or identifying first/last occurrences, window functions provide the necessary flexibility.
