Google’s #legal team is unleashing fury on #hackers and #scammers by using a tactic that the company hasn’t pursued in years: sue them for money. Google says its “affirmative litigation” deters and raises awareness of bad behavior. Skeptics wonder whether these suits are too small a gesture. Who do you side with? Have your say in the comments.

ironic as they encourage and profit from scam adverts, even today my site gets bombarded by fake google worspace accounts as they incentivise signing spoof email addresses

The near future is cyber plundering of wed based data and individual computers. Anything on line will be predated. The cyber security company‘s capabilities will be ravaged by super AI and super computers. I do not enjoy making these prediction, however, it has been already employed by the powers-to-be and will only accelerate in the future.

About time, but they should still encourage feds and others to pursue criminal too. How about hiring more outside hunters too. Plenty at Defcon that could help catch the bad guys for reasonable bounties.

Encouraging! Hope it is serious enough to be impactful. Hitting few of them with financial losses would definitely send a strong signal.

They have bounty hunters for physical crimes. Why not have “cyber” bounty hunters?

This is really important, thank you for sharing
