Managing Director, Speaker, Lecturer - Agile Transformation is not a sprint - it's a marathon. Disciplined Agile Instructor & Coach; PMI Authorized PMP Instructor
Takeaways and impressions for my followers From the #PMIGlobalSummit 2023 in Atlanta Started with 25 degrees Celsius in the southern states of the USA, Atlanta and arrived in Frankfurt/Main in pouring rain and 9 degrees. Again an eventful and instructive week lies behind me. I would like to briefly reflect on this and publish further insights in the next few days. Many colleagues and friends often envy you when it's time to go to a big conference somewhere in the world as a participant or as a speaker. But only those who have experienced the big mega events themselves know how hard these conference days and evenings 😉 are. You meet colleagues and friends from all over the world and you also want to take as much as possible from the many great lectures and workshops, which is not possible at all due to the abundance. That means you have to be at the conference center early, from 8am before the first events or keynotes, so that you can get a seat in time in the selected topic sessions, because if full then full and the doors will be closed. Depending on the size of the conference center, I sometimes didn't manage to get from one talk to the other, despite sprints. In the late afternoon, with swollen feet, you coordinate the next meeting points and locations to end the day with your friends. Again, it is impossible to attend all the different small chapter events to which one is invited. As you can see, these are very long and exhausting days, but it's worth it, because I take the many impulses, conversations and topics home with me and know that it was worth it again to take on these strains. My first 3 insights: 1. Artificial intelligence #AI is everywhere and we must use the new technologies for us in a positive sense. I see great potential here, especially in project management. It is exciting that we wanted to develop a PM assistance system, the PMBot, with our team in 2018, but the time was not yet ripe for it. 2. Project Management Institute is constantly evolving, the portfolio is continuously adapted to the needs of the PM community and many of the PMI colleagues are working to provide us with the best service. Products are developed further, integrated into the PMI portfolio and again and again completely new topics come up like now PMO Global Alliance training and certifications, which was a very good decision. Of course, we are also waiting for the adjustments and further development of many existing products. 3. A very special message I have been waiting for a long time is the decision of PMI Germany, where every third working hour is generated in projects, to consider it as an important focus market in 2024. The first announcement on this was made in Atlanta in the last few days and that is that the next PMIGlobalSummit Series 2024 will be held in Berlin (April 9-10). This is of course great news. We are looking forward to welcome the PM world in #Berlin. Stay tuned. ALVISSION EDUCATION PMI Germany Chapter e.V.
