Congrats Mitch on being featured as a PittWire "Ones to Watch!" Bell is a rehab innovation specialist in UPMC’s Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He was hired in 2022 to help build and run Assist+, a demonstration space for assistive technology located on the ground floor of the UPMC Mercy Pavilion in Pittsburgh’s Uptown neighborhood. Bell’s goal is to find, create and set up the assistive technology devices that allow patients to continue the activities — cooking, gaming, reading and more — that give their lives joy and texture. https://lnkd.in/gvT9tuM3

Nystagmus is a condition characterised by involuntary, rapid eye movements that can make stable vision a challenge. These movements, often described as shaking or wobbling of the eyes, can be constant or appear only in certain positions or when looking in specific directions. For individuals navigating the options for low vision aids, understanding Nystagmus could be essential. At Regensight, we consider that serious gaming for young people affected by chronic diseases offers an engaging way to educate, empower, and support them in managing their condition🌟. This approach helps to improve adherence to treatment, build resilience💪, and foster a deeper understanding of their health through interactive, personalized experiences 🎮. Creating a #LEGO model of the C4V CHROMO4VIS was a brilliant concept ideated by Giuseppe Lombardo for serious gaming that could merge education, healthcare, and creativity in an engaging way 🧩. #Keratoconus, particularly prevalent among youth, can be intimidating 😟. A LEGO representation of C4V CHROMO4VIS, the first #theranostic device available for predictive and precision keratoconus treatment, could make this complex condition more accessible and understandable for young patients and healthcare providers 🌈: - raising awareness about the disease and the technology in an accessible, playful format 🎉; - encouraging young patients and their families to better understand the treatment process 🤝. At Regensight, we’re dedicated to supporting young patients with keratoconus and helping them lead unique and safe lives 💖. #Theranostics #Keratoconus the LEGO Group #Seriousgaming

Beauty of telecentric lenses no matter for Distances
I 💛 giant telecentric lenses Watch to see one of these monstrous telecentric lenses in action and learn how its design allows it to remove perspective error, making objects always appear their true size no matter how far away they are After our laser demo videos, these tend to get the most views on Edmund Optics' YouTube and TikTok channels Learn more about telecentricity here: https://lnkd.in/e3UJVZZQ And more information about the specific lens family being used, our TitanTL Telecentric Lenses, can be found here: https://lnkd.in/enTKC47T #Telecentric #Imaging #MachineVision #Lens #Optics #OpticalEngineering #STEM #Science #STEMEducation #YouTube #TikTok

What we measure for #stroke patients, we will make better. True recovery of the nervous system is the goal of #neurorehabilitation after stroke. Yet measurements employed today are painfully outdated conflating compensation with actual dexterous recovery and function. This is why at the NeuroAnimation Stroke Recovery Center we've designed the most sophisticated patient-movement and assessment tracking system in the world. It's a marker-less system, so all a patient has to do is go into one of our large therapy rooms that each house 12 high-resolution cameras. They can be in a wheelchair, sitting or standing. There, the tiniest movement of the patient, up to each fingertip, is measured at over 240 times a second. We can track progress, assess synergies, analyze compensation, at a level of detail never before possible. The therapy rooms are under construction with over a mile of 58 cables to run our sophisticated tracking, lighting, projection and sound to create the most immersive, cognitively enriching environment that will capture every subtle movement of a patient.
