Quantum technology and artificial intelligence are changing our lives. At times the pace of change can be down right intimidating. But, thanks to innovators like David Boulay, his team at IMEC Illinois and the #MEPNationalNetwork America’s small and medium sized manufacturers will lead the way in adapting new technology enabling our country to thrive in the 21st century economy. This is 🇺🇸 manufacturing. This is #supplychainresilience. This is what we do.
The subject matter is incredibly complex, but the “ask” itself was simple. David Boulay, the director of the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center (IMEC Illinois), the Illinois MEP Center, and part of the #MEPNationalNetwork, wanted to learn more about quantum technology. He wanted to find out how Illinois manufacturers can position themselves to manufacture the components and parts needed for this innovative technology and how the U.S. can help develop a robust quantum supply chain. He turned to the MEP-Assisted Technology and Technical Resource (MATTR) service, a way to access world-class National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) technical expertise, whether it is to help manufacturers find suitable solutions to their real-world problems or provide insight into the emergence of an entirely new technology. You know how challenging it can be for a controls contractor company to maintain committed budget control, right? The truth is, manual tracking of costs and inventory often leads to discrepancies between estimates and actual orders. This can result in unexpected expenses that can throw even the most carefully planned projects off balance! In the video below, we explore how CUBE addresses these common challenges through the automatic generation of material requests from estimates. This not only saves time but also enhances budget accuracy, preventing those costly unplanned deviations. Click here to learn the various ways CUBE can provide the control and efficiency you need to succeed: https://lnkd.in/dbXastpK Remember, CUBE USA will be at the AHR Expo from January 22nd to 24th. Visit our booth S6456 for a live demo of CUBE’s Estimating and Inventory capabilities. NEC4 highlights - second takeaway - Value Engineering. The NEC4 allows for value engineering to be performed with the standard percentage of 50% savings’ sharing. However, this can be changed in the Contract Data which usually is changed by the Contractor/Client to 0%. The mechanism behind this Clause is that the percentage defined is multiplied by the reduced value engineering quotation in ascertaining the new Prices. It is thus distinctive here that the defined percentage is intended to define what the Contractor/Client keeps and not the other way around. In other words, if it is defined at 0%, the Subcontractor/Contractor gets to keep 100% of the resultant value engineering he performed as his submitted quotation would be accepted without value engineering repricing. #nec #nec4 #contractmanagement #heelinteressant
