January in Wisconsin showed what the 2024 election year will be—a choice between Democrats working for our democracy and our rights, and the GOP actively fighting against that. So much has happened already this month, we need to be ready to bring it to the fight at the ballot box this year. Chair Ben Wikler lays it all out for us in his latest post. This year’s election 2024 This election is a crucial one, a very important election since the time of Abraham Lincoln this election is not about Republicans against Democrats Or Democrats against Republicans this election is all about the salvation of our Democracy; how people vote will determine if we will remain a free Nation under God in Liberty and freedom for all. Democrats: Are fighting to save Democracy, our rule of law, our freedom to vote. Freedom of religion, and speech. Donald Trump and the Maga republican: I want to set up a dictatorship, to abolish our constitution, to deport all Jews and Muslims, to force abortion on all states across the country, declare martial law and use the military to police the streets. This one time in history, Donald Trump and the Republican party must be defeated, the in 2025 the Republican party can renew its principle, rebuild its moral values and join the union and once again become a good and valued political party.

Election Campaigns and the Quest for Truth: A Voter’s Dilemma As the election fervour peaks, voters grapple with a common concern: the dearth of truthfulness across party lines. Amidst the promises, slogans, and rallies, discerning citizens seek clarity. How can they compare policies, ideologies, and candidates when facts are elusive? Transparency is the bedrock of democracy. Yet, the campaign trail often resembles a labyrinth of half-truths, spin, and obfuscation. Voters yearn for candour—a compass to navigate the political landscape. They deserve substantive debates, not soundbites. In this charged atmosphere, parties must rise above rhetoric. Voters demand verifiable data, track records, and accountability. Only then can they make informed choices. As the countdown to Election Day continues, let’s hope that truth prevails over spin, empowering citizens to vote wisely. #Election2024 #TruthMatters #InformedVoting #TruthInPolitics #FactsMatter #NoMoreLies #Transparency #PoliticalEthics #keirstarmer #TrustInLeaders #MediaLiteracy #CriticalThinking #SpeakTruthToPower #FactCheck #sunak #Accountability #Consequences #Integrity #CredibleSources #Misinformation #Disinformation #HonestyIsKey #RejectFalsehoods #TruthSeekers #UpholdDemocracy Labour Party (UK) The Conservative Party U.S. Department of State European Commission

2024 is here. Will our democracy survive? In our new Center for American Progress report, Gréta Bedekovics and I provide a roadmap detailing 8 ways to help save our democracy. While it’s critical that we act now to protect democracy in 2024, in order to fully heal our country, we must stop treating election concerns with stop-gap measures and start addressing the systemic harms rotting away the foundations of our democracy by looking to reforms like state voting rights acts and electoral system reform. Democracy is too precious of a thing to lose.

As we edge closer to the 2024 U.S. Presidential election, our latest #US Crisis Monitor report, 'Beyond the Blue Wall', casts a critical eye on the dynamic political landscapes of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. ▪ In #Michigan, escalating protests related to international conflicts are intertwining with local politics, amplifying the voices of a diverse electorate but also raising the stakes of engagement. ▪ #Pennsylvania's alarming increase in extremist group activities highlights a growing undercurrent of unrest. ▪ #Wisconsin showcases a battleground of ideas, where independent voters and hot-button issues like abortion rights could turn the tide of the election. Are these states just markers on a map or bellwethers of America's political future? Dive into our comprehensive analysis to understand the critical issues fully: https://lnkd.in/esEF34sW

I did my PhD on the 2008 election. Two months out, here's what I'm currently worried about: 1) Voter Suppression: Trump's false claim that the 2020 was stolen resulted in record breaking voting restrictions. 2) Conspiracy theories: Trump allies are already perpetuating theories of election fraud in the case he loses. 3) Electoral College vs Popular Vote: Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by nearly 3 million; without wins in key states like GA, NC, and PA, the same fate could happen to Harris. There's concerns related to specific issues (e.g., abortion access, Obamacare) and general fears (hate groups increased by 200% post-2008 election) depending on the outcome. We can't predict what will happen, but we can prepare. More to come on this...
