The Department of Finance in Ireland has published a second feedback statement on the introduction of a participation exemption for qualifying foreign dividends. This is expected to be an important enhancement to the Irish corporate tax regime for holding company and private equity fund structures and align Ireland in this regard with many EU and OECD countries. It is expected that the legislation will effected from 1 January 2025 and Maples Group has already made submissions to the Irish authorities in respect of the proposed legislation.
