Gold ETFs – Outflows continue in April despite Hardening Gold Prices Global gold ETFs saw continued outflows in April in spite of inflows early in the month spurred by hardening gold prices. Asia led the global inflows and North American funds sustained positive demand but heavy European outflows compensated for these positives. A news report said by the end of April, global ETF holdings fell to 3079t, their lowest levels since February 2020, even as the northward-bound gold prices extended the total assets under management by 3% to $229 billion. Trading volumes increased across all regions with a major surge in North America, which suggests continued investor interest despite outflows. Funds in the region saw their second successive month of inflows, attracting $124 million during April. Europe led the outflows, losing $4 billion during the month, its eleventh consecutive monthly loss.

🔄 Hedge Funds Bet Against Commodities For the first time since 2016, hedge funds are betting that commodity prices will drop, showing a gloomy outlook for raw materials like corn and nickel. This change is mainly due to worries about China's slowing economy and the growing supply of these goods. Even with ongoing conflicts, the Bloomberg Commodity Index has fallen 4% this year after a 13% drop last year. Do you think falling commodity prices will lead to cheaper goods, or will other factors keep prices high? 📉🌍 #Commodities #EconomicOutlook #MarketTrends
