So, you’re engaged! Congratulations! Now the fun begins, right? Well, it can be fun, but it can also be a little overwhelming. You’ve probably heard of the ultimate wedding-planning checklist, and let me tell you, it’s a lifesaver. But where do you even start? First things first, think about whether you want to hire a wedding planner. Some couples dive right in and get one from day one, while others wait until they’ve tackled a few big tasks. If you’re unsure, a good rule of thumb is to bring a planner on board at least a year in advance. They can help keep you on track, recommend vendors, and handle the nitty-gritty details that you might not have time for. Next up, let’s talk about your wedding party. This is your squad, your support system, so choose wisely! Pick your bridesmaids, groomsmen, ushers, and anyone else you want by your side. They’ll help with DIY projects, pre-wedding tasks, and, oh yes, the bachelorette and bachelor parties! Just remember, the more people you have, the more you’ll spend, so keep that in mind as you make your selections. Now, let’s get creative! If you haven’t already, it’s time to start a wedding Pinterest board. This is where you can dream up your wedding style, think about colors, themes, and the overall vibe you want for your big day. It’s a fantastic way to gather inspiration, which will come in handy later when you’re making decisions about flowers, décor, and everything else. Fast forward to 11 months out. You need to choose your date and venue. This is a biggie! Your date and venue will set the tone for everything else, so take your time and choose wisely. Think about the season, the weather, and the overall feel you want. Once that’s locked in, everything else will start falling into place like a puzzle.

Wedding planning is not for the faint-hearted As a wedding planner, I’ve seen it all - the tears, the tantrums, the last-minute changes. People often think wedding planning is all about 👇 → Flowers → Outfits → Romance BUT the reality is far from it. It takes: 📍Efforts to handle unexpected setbacks 📍Attention to detail to manage budgets and timelines 📍Diplomacy to navigate conflicting opinions and demands 📍Long hours and hard work to bring the vision to life Wedding planning is a high-pressure, high-stakes job that requires skill, strategy, and a whole lot of heart. If you’re thinking of becoming a wedding planner, be prepared for the challenge of a lifetime. But trust me, it's worth it. There’s no feeling quite like seeing a couple’s dream wedding come together, and knowing you played a part in making it happen. P. S. 💍Guess what! It's wedding season! 🥂 Do you know how much the average wedding costs? According to The Knot Real Weddings Study, which surveyed nearly 10,000 couples across the country, the average cost of a wedding ceremony and reception in 2023 was $35,000—a $5,000 increase from 2022. With inflation on the rise, covering the cost of a child's or grandchild's wedding has never been more expensive. It's never too early to start preparing and saving! Here are some tips that may save you a bit: ➡️ Hire a wedding planner ➡️ Choose an off-season date ➡️ Tap friends with relevant expertise (calligraphy, photography, table design, etc.) ➡️ Consider a destination wedding, which can offer benefits due to a typically smaller guest list If you're attending a wedding this season, here are some common questions and answers from wedding professionals at Vogue magazine: ❓How much should you spend on a gift? 🅰️Spend $50–$75 for coworkers or distant relatives, $75–$100 for friends or relatives, and $100–$150+ for close friends, family, or wedding party members. ❓Should I send a gift if I am not attending? 🅰️Send a gift if invited to the ceremony, even if you can't attend. ❓Do I need to give a gift for a destination wedding? 🅰️Your presence is a gift, but an additional gift is still appreciated. Bottom line is that weddings can be a large expense, and it's always best to prepare, create a budget, and stay disciplined. 💒💕 What are your top tips for saving on wedding costs?
