The College of Aviation at Western Michigan University seeks to fill a fiscal year, tenure-track faculty position. With three distinct programs, the College gives the faculty member the opportunity to teach in one specific program or across all three programs, all while supporting students and fellow faculty and staff. This is a great opportunity to join an exceptional team. Major Duties: Teach up to 12 credits in the fall and spring for a total of no more than 24 credits of regularly scheduled courses or their equivalent over an academic year depending on faculty rank. Fulfill curriculum development as part of normal workload. Fulfill bargaining unit workload requirements with equivalent administrative work. Serve as a resource for the College by participating in service work related to various committees, professional societies and community organizations. Assist students with course advising, orientation and individual mentoring. Encourage and support student involvement in student organizations and internships. Support the diverse curricula by maintaining appropriate qualifications and proficiencies. Maintain relevant relationships with the aviation industry and community. Continue relevant work in the area of professional recognition. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related area from an accredited institution. Background in the aviation field in one or more of the following areas: Management Airports Operations Finance Supply chain management Safety Security Human factors Accident investigation Significant related work experience.
