Hey LinkedIn, We recently got some feedback from a prospect about their current roofing contractor. "𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙬𝙚 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙦𝙪𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙢𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙫𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙙”. This is not the first time we have heard this from customers and prospects. It is very common in the industry for companies to quote a lower price to win the project, then upcharge once the roof is opened up when they know you are at their mercy. This is done on purpose so they can upcharge significantly once the roof is opened up as they have you backed into a corner. You have 2 options, either you can call another roofer in to complete the work but this can take time and having your roof wide open is extremely risky as you could potentially damage your building if it rained or snowed. The second option is that you pay the extra fees the roofers are proposing otherwise they will walk off site leaving your building vulnerable. If you would like to avoid a negative experience like this in the future, contact us using the link below for an "all in" quote with no surprises! At Videl 𝙬𝙚 𝙜𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙚 that the price we quote you is the same price you will see on the invoice. We do all our research ahead of time to ensure the quoted price is as accurate as possible. https://lnkd.in/gmn4GH45 #roofingcontractor #commercialroofing #industrialroofing #roofingmaintenance

Don’t overlook the details! 🛠️ One key question to ask before hiring a roofing contractor: What kind of warranty do they offer on their work? A good warranty means they believe in their craftsmanship, and you’ll have the coverage you need if something goes wrong. 💼 #bonedryroofing #roofing #roofingcompany #roofingexpert #roofingquality

Why You Should Instruct and Pay for a Qualified PCA Surveyor Recently, Olympic Construction was called to inspect a failed LVT flooring system. We discovered that the contractor had installed LVT flooring over a substandard Magnesite (Magnesium Oxychloride) floor membrane. Their remedial approach was simply to cover the Magnesite with a self-levelling compound before installing the LVT the next day. This scenario underscores the critical importance of hiring specialist qualified damp surveyors. The only effective solution in such cases is to remove the floor slab entirely and replace it with a new floor structure compliant with building regulations. This incident highlights why it's essential to invest in professional surveys to ensure proper and lasting solutions.

If you get a commercial roofing quote that says nothing about “potential insulation or deck replacement,” it could be a red flag of a bad contractor. What if wet insulation is found? Will they just roof over it, knowing it’ll be a problem for you in the future? This is just one practice of an unethical roofing contractor. Learn the others in this article:

Indeed, these are genuine photos from repair requests we've received this week for newly installed roofs. It's crucial to conduct thorough research before selecting a roofing contractor. Here are 10-signs you've hired a bad roofer. 1) The absence of proper licensing and insurance. 2) There are no written, detailed estimates or contracts. 3) Poor communication skills. 4) The lack of pricing transparency. 5) Failure to secure permits. 6) Unreliable work schedule. 7) Unprofessional behavior. 8) Poor workmanship. 9) Substandard materials. 10) Lack of warranty. A seasoned roofing contractor should boast extensive experience in the industry, particularly within our region, and have a proven history of successful projects. It's wise to request references or samples of past work to evaluate their craftsmanship and expertise. Verify that the contractor holds the appropriate licensing for our area and has adequate insurance coverage. Positive reviews and testimonials are indicators of a reputable contractor. They should also provide a comprehensive estimate that clearly details the scope of the project, materials, and costs involved. Open and prompt communication is crucial; the contractor must be readily available to address any questions or concerns. Additionally, it's important to confirm that the materials they intend to use are of high quality and conform to industry standards. At Four Peaks Roofing, we understand the importance of this investment and approach it with the seriousness it deserves. **HELP NEEDED ROOFING INFORMATION REQUEST*** I need my network that is specifically in the roofing industry to provide me some guidance on proper time period and cost to repair aproximately 160 asphalt laminate shingles on a 1 1/2-story, 5/12 pitch simple gable. Shingles are aproximately 15 years old and ITEL advises they are still currently avaiable. Damage shingles are throughout the entire roofs 3-facets. Roof overall size is 17.19 without waste. Not looking for opinions on repair versus replace. Assume a Judge has dictated that a repair must take place and the above is the facts of the scope, and estimate would need to be written as a repair based on scope. Now once the repair estimate has been written, if you want to give me a cost comparison and/or your opinion of repair versus repalcement, that will be extra credit received. Feel free to message me if you are not wanting to share with the public.

I always wonder for General Contractors why not bid as both a GC and a sub? By offering packages that include multiple trades, like demo, framing, drywall, insulation, and paint, we can manage products like a GC while enjoying the winning advantages of a subcontractor. It's the best of both worlds – maximizing our chances and ensuring project success. #ConstructionBidding #Subcontractors #Takeoff #Estimation #GeneralContractor
