If you're in the Commercial Roofing Business and you look up at an exposed ceiling, you have what I call "the sickness".
I'm currently at a smaller airport somewhere in East Central Florida.
Why our fellow tradesmen can't figure out what size fasteners to use always blows my mind.

I’m always flabbergasted at what I see (construction related) when I travel. My mind goes into the downward spiral of questions: Was it the order filler at the distributor, the sales person that put in the order, the project manager if he picked it up, the crew leader for just going with it, the customer for not recognizing or knowing to question it? How did no one NOT notice???
For good reason, the National Roofing Contractors Association, Georgia-Pacific Building Products and many others focus on safety.
For the roofing contractors and manufacturing operations personnel, safety - whether on top of roofs or next to big machinery is very top of mind. But how top of mind is it for sales professionals?
“According to the National Safety Council, more than 700 people a day are injured in distracted driving and approximately 94 percent of all motor vehicle crashes involve human error.”
In roofing sales, as with many other field sales roles, the #1 safety hazard faced is driving from one customer to another.
I came across a good little article that shines a spotlight on this for sales people specifically. Thanks to Herc Rentals for the piece.
Stay safe out there doing God’s work & check the link in the comments for the article.

People get it wrong…
A roofing company does not grow from leads alone..
Leads, quite literally, are everywhere and at any given time are only a few hours of knocking doors away..
What stops a roofing company from growing typically is a lack of all or some of the following:
✔️Positioning in the market
✔️A solid attack plan (not just waiting for calls)
✔️And plug and play systems to keep it all in place
Let's get it right.....
I recently pulled up behind this truck. If you create messaging like this roofer, you will make more sales.
Most companies will highlight features in their messaging. For example, contractors list they do roofs, siding, gutters, etc on their trucks.
However, that does not explain to someone why they should do business with your company. Rapid Roofing went to root pain they solve for their clients "Restoring Your Peace of Mind...Fast."
If you want to connect with customers and sell more, stop focusing on features and start creating messaging around the pain you solve.

I went from an $1,100 dump truck…
To an 8-figure contractor in 12 years.
When I was 22, my wildest dream was to become the best concrete guy in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
I knew I needed some wheels.
So I went to an auction and got this truck for $1,100.
Then, I focused on doing 1 concrete deal.
Then another.
And another.
A few months later, I bought a second truck.
Instead of doing just 1 concrete deal, this let us do 2 jobs at once.
And that demand let to hiring a small crew…
Which led to more demand…
Which led to more equipment…
Which led to a bigger crew.
And after 12 years, that compound growth turned into an 8-figure annual revenue business.
Just one day at time.
