Running and growing a business is really hard. Now, I don’t think that little wisdom nugget will impress many of you or get me a feature article in the WSJ, but it is true. :) And you know what? It’s always gonna’ be hard. Nothing really worthwhile is easy, right? But, there ARE ways to make it easier. And to get you everything you want from your business. And leave space for you to actually have a life. During my last 5 years at Henny Penny, we implemented and ran the business on the Entrepreneurial Operating System®(EOS). EOS is set of simple concepts and practical tools used by thousands of companies around the world to clarify, simplify, and achieve their vision. EOS made a profound and positive impact on our team, our business, and our results. I’ve seen and experienced firsthand what EOS can do, so I’m excited to announce that I’ve become a Professional EOS Implementer! If you personally or a business owner you know are stuck and looking for some relief, I’d love to learn more.

2023 brought the hardest decision we’ve made in business so far. To close down. -- A few months ago, Martin Kasozi and I decided it was time to wind down on our first venture - Simbi, Inc. - and let it be what it was: a really great learning experience. 📝 These are the top 12 things I learned as a first-time founder: 1. There’s a whole lot of ways to waste time 2. Revenue > everything 3. Not all advice is meant for you 4. Momentum is VITAL 5. Being naive can be your greatest asset 6. People will follow you. Sometimes they’ll follow the business too 7. Who you do business with is the most important decision you can make (I’ve been blessed big time here) 8. Trust your gut when it’s time to move on 9. You’re not smarter than everyone else 10. You are now a salesperson 11. Build one offering for one customer 12. No one will build your business for you Being a first-time founder was just that: a first-time. Obviously no one wants to “fail” in their business, but trying something and learning as we built was the best way for us to learn what works - and more importantly: what doesn't. And now we get to build again with a whole new arsenal of tools 😏
