The White House signed an executive order promoting women’s health research on Monday. The executive order will focus on health issues and conditions that disproportionally affect women. The Department of Health and Human Services will be directed to increase data collection about women’s midlife health, and the health problems that come with menopause. The executive order also emphasized the need to increase the representation of women in clinical studies. Dr. Carolyn Mazure, the chairperson of the White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research, also said that the order will focus on conditions that disproportionately affect women, such as rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimer’s disease. #womenshealth #womenshistorymonth #CSE4genderequality #SRHR #genderequality

It's been more than 20 years since I became Menopause Practitioner , certified by The Menopause Society . Ever since my name and contact have been listed on their website as a practitioner. During that time I received a handful of phone calls from patients seeking help. In the last few weeks my phone is buzzing daily, some days multiple times, with women desperately seeking (and not getting) help. My primary care colleagues, ee need to step up! It is not that complicated. Only few patients will need to be assessed by specialist. Most if the patients can be triaged and therapy started in our clinic. Check this session, learn about resorces and tools you could use to quickly and effectively assess and prescribe for this population. #menopause #evidence #primarycare #women's health

In November 2023, the Australian Senate referred an inquiry into the issues related to menopause and perimenopause to the Senate Community Affairs References Committee for inquiry. The Committee is due to hand down its report in September 2024. This inquiry comes as a result of findings from the 2023 National Women’s Health Survey which shed light on this critical aspect of women's health that has often been overlooked or misunderstood. The findings were reported by Professor Susan Davis et al in the report 'The impact of symptoms attributed to menopause by Australian women'. 👉 Read the full blog for insights and some tips! https://lnkd.in/gCDXYuhe #MenopauseAwareness #WomensHealth #ClinicalNutrition #MenopauseSupport #HealthyAging #SenateInquiry
