🌟 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝗻? 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀! Women in science continue to be underrepresented in the field. In collaboration with IMPACT INTELLIGENCE, we conducted an online survey to investigate the underlying factors affecting women scientists in #Germany and #African countries. Our initial findings confirmed this underrepresentation, as we identified potential survey candidates from publication and scientist databases like ORCID, where only 31% were women. To achieve gender balance in our survey, we reached out to additional women scientists by researching faculty and student pages from various universities as well as social media channels. The results of our survey reveal that the career paths of women scientists are often paved with unique challenges, including gender discrimination, limited access to grants, and fewer advancement opportunities in academia.
