📧 Please share with relevant network in the ITS sector! Can the Nordic region be a leader when it comes to gender equality and the ITS sector? This is what we are now investigating in the Women in Nordic ITS (WIN-ITS) research project 👩 The transport and tech sectors are two sectors today that are inequal. Together with Trivector Traffic and the organisations ITS Finland, ITS Norway, ITS Sweden, ITS Iceland and ITS Estonia, we are investigating the current state of gender equality and ITS as a way to contribute to a more sustainable and equal industry. And you can contribute! ⭐ One step of the project is to investigate representation and prevailing norms in the industry through a survey. If you work with ITS, you can contribute by answering our survey, which will form the basis of an analysis of the current state of gender equality in the sector. Hello! Our Networking subcouncil is excited to announce our new podcast program - Connect! This program is designed to engage with members of the engineering community and discuss various important topics, whenever and wherever. The Connect will focus on topics that are important yet relevant to young alumni working in the industry. Of course, each of you gets to suggest what topic you are interest in and want us to explore. Each episode will bring in experienced guest speakers to share their insights and delve into the topic at hand. We intend to start off the program with this one of the most important topics for the field of engineering today: Tips for navigating through a male-dominated field and what we can do to help improve gender equality. For this first episode, we are bringing in 3 brilliant guest speakers with various working backgrounds - government, consulting, and academia. As we wrap up the final logistics for the podcast program, we’d love to hear from you! It’s inspiring to see the Denmark Men’s Soccer Team standing up for gender equality! It got me thinking about how we can apply this approach in tech to promote gender diversity. ❤️ Becoming Allies: Support women by becoming their mentors or sponsors in the workplace. 🗣 Advocacy for Diverse Teams: Speak up to leadership if your teams lack gender diversity. 🤝 Networking: Refer more women to your professional network or employer for job opportunities. 📈 Inclusive Recruitment: Ask recruiters to include a gender diversity strategy in job searches.
