April marks Sexual Assault Awareness Month. As your next District Attorney, I'm deeply committed to raising awareness about sexual assault every day, but Sexual Assault Awareness Month provides a crucial opportunity to amplify our efforts. It's a time to educate, advocate, and support survivors while working to dismantle systems that perpetuate sexual violence and hold offenders accountable. Sadly, it's likely that each of us knows someone who has been impacted by sexual violence; yet, it is one of the most underreported crimes. Every survivor deserves to be heard, believed, and supported. Let's break the silence, dismantle the stigma, and empower survivors to seek justice and healing. Let's all take action by supporting local organizations like the SAVA - Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Center and ChildSafe that provide critical services to survivors. Whether it's volunteering, donating, or spreading awareness, every effort makes a difference in the journey towards healing and justice. Together, let's create a community where sexual assault is not tolerated, where consent is respected, and where every individual feels safe and valued. 🩵 #SAAM #SupportSurvivors #EndSexualViolence

Whether it’s helping sheltered children get back on track, unifying troubled families, redirecting youthful offenders, resolving community conflict or empowering victims of crime. Waymakers will be there helping clear the path, providing guidance and resources so people can move beyond crisis to a place of strength and stability. Here are just some of the things Waymakers has been doing for the past 50 years in Orange County: - Sheltering Children (we operate four youth shelters in Orange County, providing respite care, therapy, education on coping and life skills). - Supporting Crime Victims Hotline (emotional and emergency assistance, court support & restitution, 24-hr on-scene response to violent crimes and mass victimization). - Domestic violence (restraining orders, restitution & resource referrals). - Human Trafficking (we are the OC 24-hr response task force). - OC Sexual Assault Hotline and Hospital Advocates (we are the ONLY OC 24-hr response task force). - Educating Communities (crime prevention and youth development programs). #nonprofit #nonprofitorganization #helpingothers #community

Every child is a masterpiece, precious to Jesus, and worthy of love, justice, and healing. At Kids Alive, we believe we are the artwork of God, created to do marvelous works that He prepares us to do (Ephesians 2:10). Kids Alive walks with victims of sexual violence to seek justice and healing. When a child suffers sexual abuse and trauma, their self-worth is significantly impacted. We employ a team of professionals - from trauma-informed staff to social workers, lawyers, and psychologists - all dedicated to pursuing justice for long-term healing. Our aim isn’t simply to punish the perpetrators; Rather, we accompany the victims through their journey, nurturing healing every step of the way. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and we invite you to join together with Kids Alive as we stand with victims of sexual abuse and trauma. Together, we can make a difference, fighting for the rights and needs of vulnerable children around the world. #abuseawareness #abuseawarenessmonth #assaultawareness #assaultawareness #SAAM #socialwork #socialimpact #childrencharity #nonprofit #KidsAlive

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜 At Switch, we stand in solidarity with survivors and advocate for a world free from violence and exploitation. This month, we raise awareness about the realities of domestic violence, a critical issue that often intersects with sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. Every survivor’s story matters, and we believe in the power of community to create change. 💪✨ 🔍 Here’s how you can help: 1 Educate Yourself: Learn about the signs of domestic violence and its impact on our community. 2 Support Survivors: Share resources, listen without judgment, and advocate for those in need. 3 Get Involved: Volunteer, donate, or join our efforts to fight against exploitation. Together, we can break the silence and create a safe space for all. 💟 If you or someone you know needs support, please reach out to us or call the National Domestic Violence Hotline (800-799-7233). You’re not alone. #domesticviolence #domesticviolenceawarenessmonth #october #awareness #endit #jointhefight #endsextrafficking #switch #upstate #southcarolina SWITCH

Think domestic violence doesn't happen in your community? Think again. Domestic violence affects every neighborhood, every community, and every demographic. It's important to note that while these statistics are devastating numbers, only 59% of non-fatal domestic violence victimizations are reported 📈 By supporting local domestic violence programs, like Iva's Place, the community can contribute to the safety and well-being of both survivors and those who respond to these dangerous situations. 💜 By dispelling the myth that "this doesn't happen here," we can take steps to support survivors and create safer environments for everyone. 🤝 Understanding and acknowledging the prevalence of domestic violence in our communities is the first step towards addressing it and providing necessary and vital support to survivors. Juvenile crime is on the rise in Phoenix, and it's a crisis that demands our immediate attention. According to the 2024 Crime Reduction Plan, there was a significant increase in violent crimes committed by juveniles in 2023. These trends are alarming, but we have the power to make a difference. Our mission is to tackle this issue head-on through community engagement, strategic policing, and robust youth programs. We believe that early intervention and education can steer our youth away from crime and towards a brighter future. Support our initiatives to reduce juvenile crime by getting involved or donating to our cause. Together, we can create a safer community for everyone. https://lnkd.in/e9uwHqdR #CommunitySafety #YouthEngagement #CrimePrevention

📚 Did you know early education plays a vital role in preventing sexual violence? Our programs equip young people with the tools to build healthy, respectful relationships—laying the foundation for a safer future. Our resource, Every Body Talk, is designed to guide caregivers in having age-appropriate conversations about body safety, child abuse prevention, and sexual assault prevention with children from birth through age eight. This book provides the framework for children to express concerns about their safety, fostering open communication and trust. By partnering with organizations and communities, we’re creating a ripple effect of positive change. Together, we can empower the next generation with the knowledge they need to stay safe. 📖 Learn more about how you can support this initiative: https://bit.ly/4gSqXRN #EducateToPrevent #HealthyBoundaries #ChildSafety #CommunityImpact #NonProfit #CSR #Prevention #YouthEmpowerment
