In my newest, Own Your Ambition newsletter on Substack, I offer advice on how to build and nurture the relationships that count by being strategic and intentional in networking. Networking vs. Genuine Connections: The Game Changer for Women In a world that thrives on connections, we’re often told to “network, network, network.” Attend events, exchange business cards, build a LinkedIn presence—but is networking alone enough? The real game-changer isn’t just having a long contact list; it’s building genuine connections. A strong network helps, but authentic relationships open doors that cold networking never will. When we truly connect—by sharing, supporting, and uplifting each other—we create a circle of trust, not just transactions. So, instead of asking, “How can this person help me?”, let’s ask, “How can we grow together?” Because in the end, relationships built on value and authenticity lead to opportunities that networking alone never can. #WomenWhoLead #GenuineConnections #NetworkingWithPurpose #SupportAndGrow #WomenEmpowerment

Ladies That Do 2025! From next year we are taking Ladies That Do Networking to the next level for our members, by introducing quarterly socials, including a Christmas celebration. Often women in business do not have a large network to socialize with outside of work, and sometimes other people don’t always understand the intricacies of running a business. We are serious about fostering friendships and giving space to allow those to happen, because there is nothing more powerful than a woman with a whole team of women backing her up. Still not sure about joining a big group? Or worried about some of the necessary evils of networking – like delivering 60 seconds to a room full of women, or meeting your obligations as a member? Why not send a message to chloec@ladiesthatdo-networking.co.uk for a reassuring chat about what we actually do, what we expect of you, and the guidance and support that we are willing to give you so that you can get the most out of the group. 💗Come and visit us to find out what we are all about and get that vital business support you have been missing out on. 🌐Please visit our website by following the link in the comments. #Hinckley #NetworkingInHinckley #LadiesInBusiness #PowerfulWomen #PowerInBusiness

The Real Power of Networking Goes Beyond Just Making Connections!! I used to think that once I made a connection at an event, my work was done. But I was wrong. The real magic happens in the follow-up. Now, I make it a priority to nurture my relationships over time. I send personalized emails, schedule regular check-ins, and share valuable resources. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁? A network of loyal supporters and collaborators who have helped me achieve incredible things like speaking engagements, clients, contracts, partnerships etc. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀? By sharing our roadblocks we can support each-other and achieve greater success. “Anna, why do you have to call this event ‘Women in Business’ but then you welcome men? Why can’t you call it ‘Men and Women in Business’?” someone asked me — I’ll let you guess the gender. I had to think about it. Here’s what I’ve noticed from events I’ve attended: unless specifically stated that it’s for women, the majority of the attendees are men. I did my rounds with women’s communities, but something always felt missing. So, I decided to create an event without an agenda other than wanting to meet new people who are open to making connections. I wanted to create a space where everyone feels welcome. I wanted it to be big enough yet small enough to be manageable. Twenty-five seemed to be a good number. As host (and control freak), I took attendance and gave out drink tickets, and I was pleasantly surprised to achieve perfect attendance. Everyone showed up, and on time! I loved the energy, conversations, and connections. It fills my heart to receive many lovely messages from attendees saying how much they enjoyed the event and meeting such inspiring women. It brings me joy to see the power of community in action. Thank you to everyone who attended and made this evening special. Let’s continue to uplift and empower one another! P.S. If you missed this one or simply can’t wait to do it again, our next Women in Business drinks event is just two months away. Get ready for another inspiring evening and stay tuned for more details! #whatsyourstory #networking #womeninbusiness
