Rather than highlight an agent this week in our #AgentSpotlight section, we would be giving deserved recognition to a body. The Women's Council of Realtors in Maryland is a part of a larger body that offers members timely educational opportunities and cutting-edge programming. The Maryland chapter @marylandwc consists of seven local networks, working to advance women in the real estate profession. Established in May 2022, the Maryland State Chapter empowers women in real estate, emphasizing entrepreneurship and leadership. For the work done to advance women in the real estate profession, we believe they are well worthy of being recognized as our #RealEstateHero for the week. https://bit.ly/4bFiyhX #MarylandRealEstate #VirginiaRealEstate #MarylandRealtor #RealEstateMaryland #RealEstateVirginia #MarylandHomes #VirginiaHomes #MarylandProperty #VirginiaProperty #MarylandLiving #VirginiaLiving #MarylandHomebuyers #VirginiaHomebuyers #MarylandInvestment #VirginiaInvestment #MarylandDreamHome #VirginiaDreamHome #MarylandRealty #VirginiaRealty #MarylandHousing #VirginiaHousing

When we say that The Fairway isn't networking, it's net*worth*ing, THIS is what we mean... Chloe Jackman's newest Chloe Jackman Photography client Chime came directly from our SF Fairway Dinner where we were honored to have Chime’s Chief People Officer Sarah Collins Wagener. You know how men do business on the golf course? They give each other jobs. They invest in one another. They exchange human, social and financial capital. Well, it's our turn. Our Fairway. Our rules. Our money. The power and magic of the intersectional, inclusive, intentional mix of women in the room at our dinners (22 dinners and 2 events for 700 women and counting) is why I do this work. It's my superpower. The wealth-building opportunities that come from the relationships built and the business deals made ($8.5 Million and counting) is why what we're doing isn't just proof of concept, it's proof of the power of women. It's *our* superpower. And we're just getting started. You in? #HypeWomen #TheFairway #money #wealth #women

Graphic Designer, Web Designer, & Photographer (creative wizard) | Building a Tech Startup for Photographers
Last night I finally had the chance to attend an AAF Chattanooga event and was feeling so inspired afterwards - perfect for a Women's History Month event! So many laughs, finger snapping & connection. We got to hear from a few female powerhouses in the advertising and creative industry talk deeply about overcoming imposter syndrome, breaking barriers and fighting for their seat at the table. I had a few waves of goosebumps as these incredible women spoke about what it's been like over the course of their careers to get where they are today and the advice they had for us early in our own careers. Here are some key points that resonated with me: - Realize that you deserve a seat at the table the same as anyone else. - Don't psych yourself out of going after what you want. - Foster a culture of inclusivity & raising up other women around you. - Figure out what you really love to do and don't settle. - Imposter Syndrome for women correlates with centuries of being conditioned to think we don't deserve to be in positions of power or ideas to be heard, so we have to work harder on shifting that mindset & the tendency to listen to voices of doubt. Give yourself grace. Creating a space to discuss these topics with transparency and changing the dialogue is incredibly important and those two hours had an impact on me. Looking forward to more of these panel discussions from AAF Chattanooga! 🙌

Throwing it back a few weeks ago to the Greenville Chamber’s Annual Meeting. My schedule doesn’t permit me to attend many Chamber events, but the Annual Meeting is one I try to prioritize. If you don’t support your local chamber, I encourage you to evaluate if the investment is worthwhile for you. Because I care deeply about small businesses, DEI, and economic inclusion, I am sharing a few considerations when vetting if a membership is right for minority-business owners. 👉🏽 Does the chamber board make-up consists of good representation across diverse demographics? 👉🏽 Does the chamber have DEI initiatives embedded into its offerings with leadership responsibilities assigned to personnel? 👉🏽 Is at least one of the chamber’s core values related to inclusion or equity? 👉🏽 Does the chamber offer specially curated experiences and initiatives intentionally designed for minority businesses? 👉🏽 Does the chamber serve as a convener and supporter of broader community efforts focused on equity and inclusion? 👉🏽 Does the chamber lobby for issues that impact both the business community and matters of inclusion and equity? 👉🏽 Do you have time to engage in the chamber offerings to help maximize your investment? We all should have some level of concern about the overall economic vitality of our local communities. If you can answer yes to the majority of these questions then I recommend you seriously consider joining your local chamber. #chamberofcommerce #economicinclusion #DEI #economicdevelopment
