Join my 5-Week Decision-Making Quest | Emotions are data for better decisions | Transformational Leadership + Communication Advisor | Dyslexic Thinking | Integrating Indigenous Wisdom Unlocking Authentic Leadership
How are you creating #FrictionlessUX with colleagues so that collaborating and supporting each other flows? Here is what I am observing could be improved: ▶️▶️When you chose to participate in “get-to-know-you calls” go prepared.◀️◀️ ⏺️We are all busy so when you have done the necessary prep work instead of asking to be spoon fed what is readily available in someone’s about or bio section, you are showing up from a place of giving value. ⏺️Come prepared to ask at least 1-2 questions to explore or show interest in how you can collaborate (and be willing to give your Neurodivergent colleagues the space to think about it and respond via DM after your call) ⏺️Do you have 3 simple + solid ASKS? (I’m thinking of re-running my masterclass on ASKS in July - who would be interested?) Since modeling is helpful and that is what good leaders do, I will share examples of some of the ASKS I bring toa get-to-know-you call: 1️⃣ Because giving access to deliberately silenced voices is important to me, I am looking for Founders + Funders who are Indigenous, Black, AAPI, Latine, LGBTQIA+, and Neurodivergent to spotlight in Startup Grind Houston #SGHOU ‘s fire-side chat. Can you introduce me? 2️⃣ Working with women in business who have already created a level of success are some of my best clients because while I can advise all stages, phases, cycles, and timing of business communication + growth, I see the biggest impact with women and male allies in those stages because there are fewer advisors who posses the expertise who know and are able to work with them to anchor and develop their emotional cadence as the leaders we need right now. Who do you know in their second of third stage or business you can introduce me to? 3️⃣ Who do you admire with a podcast or a business community I can share my entrepreneurial story with and we can collaborate with each other? ▶️▶️▶️when you go to your get-to-know-you meetings PREPARED - you can be both meaningful and efficient - and who doesn’t want to start a relationship in a meaningful and with #FrictionalessUX◀️◀️◀️ NOW - BECAUSE we are not hosting a Wednesday LinkedIn Audio event next week for the 4th of July - someof us will have extra time available. Some of y’all are taking time off and that makes it a perfect time to hold a focused 15 minute get-to-know-you call. I’ve literally added time on my calendar every day to host these because a lot of the time I do not have the capacity to take away from revenue generating activities. WHO WANTS TO HOP ON AN EFFICIENT + POWERFUL get-to-know-you-call next week? Comment “I’m in” or send me a DM and I’ll give you my scheduler link.

There's a narrative circulating that Gen Z is "spoiled, entitled, and a nightmare to work with." However, this perspective overlooks the incredible potential and fresh perspectives that Gen Z brings. Understanding and leveraging their unique work patterns can transform this "nightmare" into an opportunity for growth and innovation. But let's flip the script- Gen Z grew up with the internet and cutting-edge tech, making them natural wizards with digital tools and social media. They adapt quickly and value flexibility, meaningful work, and ongoing learning. If we want to attract and keep Gen Z talent, we must build inclusive workplaces that value collaboration, offer growth opportunities, and love new tech. When we match their values and work style, we unlock their creativity, tech skills, and passion for positive change. Instead of seeing Gen Z as a challenge, let's recognize them as game-changers. By tapping into their fresh ideas and energy. #genz #workculture #innovation #futureofwork #digitalnatives #inclusivity #techsavvy #growthmindset #collaboration #freshperspectives

Embracing Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) isn't just a goal—it's the heart of innovation in tech. As a techpreneur, I've seen firsthand how D&I initiatives can transform workplaces and drive success. Early in my career, our team struggled with diversity. Introducing inclusive hiring practices and mentorship programs not only enriched our culture but also unlocked new perspectives that fueled our creativity and problem-solving. D&I isn't just about fairness; it's about building stronger, more resilient teams that thrive on diverse ideas and experiences. I and my team are deeply committed to this cause, we’re excited to share practical steps we can take together: Did you know diverse teams are 35% more likely to outperform their peers? Let's adopt "bias busting" workshops like Google’s to ensure fair decisions across the board. 𝟏. 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐁𝐢𝐚𝐬: Did you know diverse teams are 35% more likely to outperform their peers? 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬: Inspired by IBM, let's use diverse interview panels and standardized questions to uncover hidden talent and ensure equal opportunities. 𝟑. Breaking Limiting Beliefs Imagine a businesswoman at a tech company. She doubts her ability to sell. She thinks that because she is a woman, she will not be good at sales because men dominate the tech world. But is it really true that women can’t be good salespeople in the tech world? What about women like Marissa Mayer, former President and CEO of Yahoo!, or Sheryl Sandberg, former COO of Meta? What about the thousands of women doing important sales work at large, medium, and small tech companies around the world? Now it’s your turn. What limiting beliefs do you have? For each argument that supports your limiting belief, write out as many counterarguments as possible. At the end of this exercise, you should be able to put the arguments supporting your limiting beliefs into one of two groups: (a) those that are wrong, whether based on faulty assumptions or a lack of information; and (b) those that are true but that you can change by working on them. Learn how to recognize your own limiting beliefs, and then break them! 🌟 Last night, I had the incredible opportunity to host a Women in Tech event focused on empowering women to advance their careers by using workshop facilitation! 🌟 After working in tech for many years and speaking at Women in Tech panels, the questions I got always came back to “How do I get promoted or take on more challenges when I’m not given opportunities?” At first, I would say “just do it, ask for it” but I realized there’s something more fundamentally broken with how companies collaborate that’s stopping certain people from rising up and getting more senior or manager roles. I especially see this in women who don’t want to speak up at traditional meetings where people have circular discussions. Especially when their team has more senior people or loud voices that overpower the conversation. In the end, you don’t hear from your diverse team who include junior/senior, introvert/extrovert, and all genders and backgrounds. The truth is, traditional meetings are the worst way to come up with innovative ideas, hear from a diverse team, and promote leadership and visibility to all voices. The group learned my favorite method for making decisions and selecting the most impactful projects to launch our fake app BarkBuddy a dog walking app that will take over the world! Within 2 hours we had 3 super innovative projects that were selected through 3 phases of exercises. I was really impressed with everyones creativity, thanks so much to those who attended! Let me know if you’d be interested in doing this workshop in the comments or DM me if you'd like to host this at your company! Special thanks to SoundCloud and Hila Enoch for hosting us! and Sarah Wachs and Lena Simon for organizing the event! Also to Marico Marvie Yap-Mulder for photos and videos! #womenintech #workshop #leadership #visibility #facilitation #meetup #berlin #engineering #learninganddevelopment

Global Head of Learning & Development | Change Catalyst | Empowering Leaders & Transforming Cultures with Bold, No-Nonsense Strategies
"𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝑰 𝒅𝒐? 𝑰 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕." I talked to a few women in the last couple of weeks who are in this season of life: seeking more out of career/life yet unclear on where to start. I hear questions and statements like these often. ❓ Where do I start looking? ❓ What do I want? ❓ I have so many interests. I don't know where to focus. ❓ I just need to know where to take the first step. I'm someone who is naturally biased towards action. ✅ You want to meet up for coffee? All right, let's pull out the calendar and make it real. ✅ A comedian I follow is coming to town? Tickets secured. ✅ Unsatisfied with a current situation? I'm making moves to pivot or do things differently in the future. This can be a strength in the world today where things happen quickly, and businesses expect you to be agile on your feet. Sometimes, however, action is not the right answer. Sometimes, action is the most reactive thing you can do. I'm not advocating for inaction. I'm advocating for decision-making that's intentional, self-reflective, and non-reactive. It's not always about 𝗗𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗚. It's sometimes about 𝗕𝗘𝗜𝗡𝗚. There are benefits to just sitting with complexity and nuances of your experiences. 1️⃣ It may be the space you need to slow down and pause even. 2️⃣ Reflect on your values and what's important to you. 3️⃣ Then refocus on realigning yourself to your priorities. BEFORE you take action. Reframing from "What do I need to do?" to "What do I need to BE?" This shift in mental framework can be very transformative. If you're ready to step into a space of growth while managing uncertainty and emotional intelligence, let's have a chat! https://lnkd.in/gixbNBxm #womeninbusiness #professionalwomen #emotionalintelligence

#WednesdayWorkSmart Women in STEM leaders and all, one word strongly resonated with me this morning is “Simplify.” This word encapsulates how I aim to create more value with less complexity and enhance productivity with less stress. Here are 5 ways to #simplify: 1️⃣ Prioritize Ruthlessly: Start by understanding what truly matters. Focus on high-impact tasks and ask, "Is this the best use of my time right now? “ This keeps your priorities clear and manageable. 2️⃣ Automate Repetitive Tasks: Use technology to manage repetitive tasks like email sorting, social media management, or data entry. This can free up hours each week, allowing you to focus on strategic activities. 3️⃣ Set Clear Boundaries: Establish specific work hours, limit after-hours communication, and set aside blocks for uninterrupted deep work. Clear boundaries enhance mental health and productivity. 4️⃣ Declutter the Workspace: Organize your physical and digital spaces regularly. A tidy workspace promotes a clear mind and efficient work habits. Same applies in your digital space, clear out unnecessary files, and organizing email. 5️⃣ Streamline Communication: Keep communication concise and clear. Encourage your team to embrace brevity to save time and prevent misunderstandings. Utilize technology to streamline communication across all formats. 🤔 What personal stories or tips do you have where simplified your work made a significant positive impact? 💭 Share below—I’d love to hear from you! #InnovateYou #leadershipcoaching #executivecoaching #professionalcoaching #creativity #reducestress #positivity #balance #peakperformance #productivity #effectiveness #leadership 📅 Ready to advance your career with ease? Helping leaders feel as good as they look on paper | Creator of Partnering™ and The Eleusis Method® | Speaker, Podcast and Radio guest
Leading often means forging your own path. 🕯️ Most people travel roads that are clearly marked and paved. But many of us aren’t traveling a well-trodden road…we’re blazing our own trail. Whether it’s… Publishing a book that challenges conventional wisdom, or... Being the only female on a leadership team, or... Bringing a big dream to life... There’s no easy rule book. We have to rely on smarts, hard work, and a good dose of trusting ourselves. Very often, we under-acknowledge the pressure and weight that forging our own path puts on us. We may love our work and be so excited about the impact we're having. We may be 100% sure in our gut that this is what we’re meant to do. But still... > Being the first woman in certain areas of leadership… > Or the first woman to be the breadwinner of our family… > Or in the minority trying to change the way things are done… It can be really hard at times. Lonely, too. So few of those closest to us *really* understand the unique challenges we face and the extra weight we carry. Feeling isolated can take its toll and lead us to second-guess our decisions or doubt whether our vision will ever come to fruition. That’s why it’s vital for those of us blazing our own trails to find safe, authentic support with other driven, successful women. 🌟 If you’ve felt alone and you’re longing for more substantial connections with women who are on your level and *get* what you’re going through… Women whose perspective you’d also value when it comes to problem-solving and strategy… JOIN US FOR THE PARTNERING™ IMMERSION EXPERIENCE, a free live virtual series. Partnering™ is a revolutionary reciprocal peer technique that will reshape the way you receive (and give) support. On two consecutive Fridays, May 24th and 31st @ 2pm ET, we’ll be meeting for a small group immersion experience where you’ll be matched with different high-powered women for 1-1 Partnering™ breakout sessions. Equipped with powerful Partnering™ tools and clear guidelines, you and your Partners will interact in a container that fosters meaningful and productive conversations. For each breakout session, you'll take turns sharing and receiving attention / support, so you can gain clarity, release stress, brainstorm solutions, and take valuable action in your work and life. Registrants already signed up for this gathering include a former executive at Amazon, a New York Times best-selling author, the head of marketing for a series B startup, the lead sales trainer for celebrity multimillionaire entrepreneurs, and more amazing humans. If you want to connect with accomplished women to create mutually supportive, authentic relationships, join us to go beyond superficial networking and establish a circle that can help you through thick and thin.
